Yea, they were. Jordan's ran $125 and these were $140, which at the time was CRAZY for alot of people & parents, even if they had it, bc the "Much" was an option.

Like I said in my story... I had the "More" while most other kids had the "Much", but it wasn't a big deal back then, bc nobody focused on what was considered "Takedown" and what wasn't. Ppl knew mine were different and I got props for it, but nobody took anything away from the "Much" owners.

Just Different, Less Pettier times.

More Uptempos were always better looking and more coveted but nobody clowned on the takedown model as long as it was a nike shoe you were safe, i know this because i didnt have nikes until 96 in 8th grade and before then it was a problem but once nikes hit my feet it all stopped
 
I didn´t even notice as a kid. I had the black and white More Uptempos and a little later my cousin had the white and blue Much ones. Now I know it´s two different models, but at that time it was the same shoe to me.

yeah i got a pair, they were 160 i believe and i dont know how i swung that price with my parents or maybe my grandparents helped but that price was ridiculous for my family back then but they were awesome. they were very responsive and mad comfy, i need a retro in that colorway bad

I love those white/blue joints. Those and black/white/red were my favorite ones

Only way I could afford these shoes back then was cutting the neighborhood lawn, starving to death during school lunch time and saving up :lol:

White/blue would have been a perfect summer shoe if they would have retro them

I'm excited! I missed out on the last release of the black & white more uptempo. Was only able to cop the 96 Olympics Pippens. I'll be saving money for both of those pairs next year.
 
at least two pairs of the blk/whites. all time favorite shoe. the red/whites don't do anything for me. if the all whites drop i'll cop a pair of those as well. 2016 is going to be a great year for 90s kids with these, jordan 12s, and penny 2s.
