I remember those, they only had 1 air bubble lol... when I was in school u had 2 have the MORE Uptempos or u was gonna get grinded up :rofl:

Were you in Highschool at the time?

Bc maybe it was different for the older more "snobby" crowd, but I was in Middle School in 1996-97 (6th/7th Grade) and nobody really judged you for having the Much Uptempos bc there were way more Much Uptempos on feet than More Uptempos. I had MORE's and even though they were the Coldest Uptempos in school, it wasn't a big deal.

Lol man this bring back so many funny memories. I was also in 6th/7th grade when these came out and I vividly remember walking in footlocker at willowbrook mall (had to be summer of 96') and seen these on the shelf and was automatically in awe of the shoe. These were a hot if not the hottest 'back to school' shoe that year and I remember wanting them so bad. We all did. The 'AIR' font, the 360 air bubble smh these were the dopest at the time. Classic shoe. Looked at the tag and relialized there was no way my mother would by them at that price. Then noticed just beneath them on the shelf sat the 'Much' uptempo with only 1 air pocket at a much lesser price :frown: lol. At that point I was tempted but realized I just couldn't do it. Back then the phrase "struggle (insert)" wasnt a thing to be said but at that moment even as a kid I knew and considered the Much Uptempos to be the "struggle" More Uptempos lmao. Since I couldn't get the Mores I just passed all together lol. Me and my best friend still laugh about that to this day. Especially since that year he went ahead and reluctantly copped the Muchs even though they were the lesser of the two, because his dad wasn't having it either! Lol on some "just get these, it's the same shoe" ish :smh: :lol:
 
I remember when these came out. I believe these were also endorsed by Juan Howord, also(Air Much Uptempo). I remember because it was s footlocker commercial and he was on it with the black/white Much Uptempo's. I think that was the summer of 1996 because I was going into the 4th grade. The Air More/Much Uptempo's might be the first pair of Nike's that I was truly intrigued to get and quite possibly the shoe that got me into sneakers in general. My mom wasn't going to drop $140 for a 9 year old back then lol. I had the 2006 retro's with the leather upper and I remember how cheap they felt quality wise, but that could justify why those retailed for $120 instead of the OG $140. I will cop the black/white pair for sure. I hope these don't be too limited
 
I remember making my first friend in first grade because my sister had my mom buy me the Olympic pair and my friend had on the (black/white) pair, our first conversation was us comparing each other's color ways of the air mores. I wanted the black pair so bad but my sister somehow installed the fact that the Olympic pair was more "exclusive". Money wasn't the issue since a family friend worked at a Kids Footlocker on 163rd street here in Miami, that's no longer there anymore. Great memories were made there, pippen 1's, penny 1-2-3, Rodman's, Griffey's, etc. Lol.

NOPE! Actually Not OG... has a White Swoosh on Back (pretty sure OG was Black).

And that rand is just consistent this time around it looks like.

I'm impressed! The fact that these look OG is saying Nike did something right! And the White Swoosh on the Back only makes it better IMO.

Yes, the og's had the black swoosh and these have white. 

Pretty sure those are still the 2010 version. 
 
Definitely 2010 version :lol:

I don't think I would want OGs right now man it's been 20 years! Sole would be in shambles
 
i personality think the muchs are better lookin. the upper is allready bulky but to add the more midsole it seems too bulky,but the slim much midsole adds a nice contrast. bring back the muchs allready they havent retrod yet!!

Yea, I never understood the hate for the Much... I think it's just an ego thing of having the shoe that cost $30 more. I wouldn't even trip.

maybe because Pippen didnt wear the much uptempo, kinda like saying if they had takedown models of numbered jordans you couldnt see the reason for buying the shoe that jordan wore for $30 more

STILL. There's more differences between the Team Jordan's and the 12 and 13. There's not much difference between the Much & More.

And like I've said... I had the More OG's. Yes, I think they're Colder, and I can understand how ppl would rather have the More than the Much. But I don't get the overall DISDAIN for them like they're a pair of Lebron Soldiers in comparison or something.

its just like the way up compared to the Penny 1, they just arent as cool. they both are sweet shoes and ive never had hate for them but i wouldnt get the takedown model if the regular is available thats for sure

Absolutely, I can understand that. I just don't get the ones who will talk down on them like they're a completely different sneaker. But yea, I'm the same way.

yeah trust me if i had more money than sense and plenty of time to tear up shoes and wear them all the time then yeah i would grab the way up or much uptempo but for now i dont so i enjoy them releasing but will not buy them and especially not for retail.

Back in the days in my area , air bubbles represented the latest technology, and when a kid walked in with a full length air sole everyone went crazy.

Nah i was in middle school too...it seem like at my school it was a huge sneaker war wit us lmao...but now that i think about it we werent even buying our own sneakers lol
 
I WAS LIKE 12 WHEN THESE DROPPED AND I DID NOT LIKE THE MUCH UPTEMPO BACK THEN.. AS FOR THESE ... I HAVE WORN MY 2010 PAIR ONCE SO ILL PASS ON THESE. I DEFINITELY LOVE THEM THOUGH.. SO NOSTALGIC.. MY OLDER BROTHER HAD THE ALL WHITE PAIR AND THEY TRIED TO ROB HIM WHEN HE WAS WAITING FOR ME AFTER SCHOOL LOL.. I FELT SO BAD WITH MY ZOOM TURFS ON
