Dallas Mavericks 2015-2016 Season Thread

Great win tonight. This is Monta's team now... will be blasphemy if he doesn't make the all star team

sources say both Kings and Mavericks have interest in signing Josh Smith as a free agent if (when) he clears waivers Wednesday

I would rather have J-Smoove over Jermaine O'neal anyday.
 
Mavs change the careers of some dudes... at the vet min I'm down for j smith over oneal. He is a bone head tho don't want a lamar Odom 2.0
 
I'd love to add JSmoove too. He has the athleticism to be a finisher at the rim, much like BWright (albeit, not as high a flyer). That would replace some of the production we lost with Wright.

Bring him in on the second unit, playing with Harris, and I could see him excelling. He's not great as a number 1 or 2 option on a team but would fit in very well in a reserve role.

Here's hoping the Rondo / Smith connection helps.

Has he said anything about where he wants to go? I'm biased but if I was a player, I'd take Dallas over Houston if I was basing my decision off of highest chance to get a ring.

I know he played AAU ball with Coward and his senior year at Oak Hill with Rondo. I wonder which one is a bigger draw.

They have an exceptiona for 2.07 mil and apparently before he signed that deal with the Pistons he really wanted to sign with the Rockets. http://sports.yahoo.com/news/source...gest-suitor-to-sign-josh-smith-193133772.html
 
Last night was painful to watch. So many turnovers. Growing pains guys...

Mavs fans overreacting on twitter like crazy hope yall ain't one of em.

That lob rondo threw to dirk last night tho... lol just lol
 
I know Carlisle's been working with Rondo on his shooting but goodness, a career high 5 3FG made tonight?
 
Our defensive numbers been up too since he got here... and they only gonna gonna go up.

Need to take advantage of this east game block
 
Just love how this team is built all around.

Yea, there's still some depth issues with the big's for the moment but dang we just have quality depth all around for first time since 2011.

I think this team overall on paper is better than the 2011 title team; they just don't have the pedigree and experience of the 2011 team.

So NICE having Chandler back as our C.

Any Knicks fans still think we lost that trade? :rofl:

We have a starting C averaging a double-double. They have a 5-32 record. Enough said.

AND Dirk moves to 7th all-time last night after hitting a clutch 3 in OT. I hope Dirk plays until he's 50. Not looking forward to the day when he retires.

Man, I'm going to legit cry when Dirk retires. He's one of the main reasons why I became a Mavs fan.

Do y'all think he'll retire after this current contract is up? I hope we win one more ring with him, man.
 
He's always said he'll play until his body stops him from doing so. He's playing to win more rings, so I don't think he'll sign another contract just to increase his ranking on the all time scoring leaders list (though passing The Dream, Elvin Hayes, and Moses Malone this season makes me really proud to be a Mavs fan).

Mark, Donnie, and Rick have really put together a strong team around him. The playmakers and scorers we have now greatly reduce his workload. I think if we can keep this team together, he could play a few more years after this current contract expires.
 
I'm going to the game here in L.A. against the Clippers tomorrow. Really looking forward to seeing the new additions in person for the first time. The Mavs are undefeated (1-0) when I'm in attendance, so there's no doubt we'll get the win.

Welp, at least I got to see Rondo, Chandler, Tyson and Devin in person for the first time...

We played solid during most of the first half, but we were unable to recover because of sloppy turnovers and easy shots that were missed. The Clippers were really on their game so they definitely deserve their props for the win. Rondo couldn't throw the ball in the ocean, but I'll give him credit for trying to create some offensive when we were struggling to score. Carisle got ejected for no reason at all.

Very tough loss. The team outside of Dirk and Monta just didn't seem engaged. This loss coupled with the Cowboys lost (ugh @ noncatch) really ruined my weekend.
