Dallas Mavericks 2015-2016 Season Thread

Love finally having a legit post defender again in Tyson Chandler.

Last play could've seen one more pass, especially since we didn't have to force a 3. I would've preferred Harris taking that open shot off the Dirk pass for a chance at an offensive rebound with enough time left, but the Parsons shot was still a good look.

I was salivating just watching that second quarter offensive show when everyone was clicking. Parsons surprised me with some great defensive plays too - very underrated defender, imo.
Devin Harris tho...
Devin Harris looked great. Said he was working on his outside shot, and it really showed. Monta's shot looked a lot better too.

Tough loss, but the Mavs played pretty well overall from what I saw of the replay. As long as Tyson Chandler stays healthy, I think we have a chance of making a deep playoff run.

I think Carisle made the right decision to place Jameer in the starting line-up. That Harris/Wright combo off the bench gave too many teams trouble last season (including the Spurs), so I'm happy it wasn't broken up. Didn't expecting Monta to do that much ball-handling this season with all the point guards on our team, but it worked for the most part, so I won't complain. I wasn't thrilled with Parsons' offense/shot selection, but I'll give him a pass since it's only game 1 of 82.

I wonder if we'll end up getting Barea.

First W of our championship season :smokin

I hadn't watched any preseason or even the highlights of our first game but we aren't going to be really good. Like I'm not joking about the championship

Top 4 team in the West easy.

Even with the questionable defense in the second half and Dirk struggling from the field, we managed to get the win against the young and talented Pelicans. Not sure why Carisle didn't sub Aminu in earlier in the third quarter. I thought he was one of the key reasons we built a lead in the first half.

Offense looks promising. Much more dynamic having 2 playmakers in Monta and Parsons on the floor. Defense has had flashes of being good, but that Q3 D is looking terrible in the first few games. Gotta shore that up before we can talk about championship aspirations.

I love what Aminu brings to the Mavs. Doesn't take a lot of shots, just a sound defensive player. Really need to see Carlisle give him 20+ minutes per game. Such a shrewd signing. You guys got him discounted at like $1M-per.

We're starting to look like those Mavs teams from the early 2000's that were coached by Don Nelson. Defense is really going to have to kick it up a notch, though. Like ChampChuThik said, I think Aminu is going to have to play a bigger role for us to succeed.

Huh? I just meant that our current offense reminded me of back when the Mavs were well-known for being an high scoring team.

My man. You watch the Minny game? 10/6. 3 steals and 2 blocks.

Unfortunately, no. I'm in Cali plus I don't have League Pass. I saw that the Mavs actually tweeted/posted on IG about how efficient Aminu was yesterday. Hopefully those stats encourage Carisle to use him more often, especially down the stretch when we need stops.

Big win last night vs the Wizards. Brandon Wright had a sick posterizing dunk on Seraphin.

Anyone else frustrated with Nelson's play?
