at this news. I forgot who had posted it in NBA thread or even earlier in this thread about Deron coming to mavs along with DJ (before DJ flaked out anyways). He would have been 2 for 2 if not for DJ if this Deron thing actually happens.

Agreed. Can't keep giving up rookies/young players and 1st round draft picks in these trades. Even though it was worth the risk for Rondo (no one knew it'd be THAT bad), we lost Jae (big payday after solid play), BWright, AND a 1st round pick.
Satnam can team with Sim to become the new age twin (Twindian) towers. All kidding aside, I'm not sure what their team salary is at. We'd probably have to give up the young talent and/or future draft picks that I don't want to give up.
Good point. I had almost forgotten. Fegan likes repping knuckleheads - DH, DJ, DMC. We'll see if Deron works out. Maybe that'll be enough incentive to push DMC to force a trade to come here.

Hopefully in a few years, we look back, and this plays out in our favor like you said. DJ could've had a bigger role here. He may not be a franchise center, but he would've been a part of a very good, young core. I was most excited about our defense being one of the best. Strong perimeter D with a strong presence at the rim.
