Dallas Mavericks 2015-2016 Season Thread

No chance Houston doesn't match now that Bosh is back in MIA.

Dallas is gonna struggle with no Matrix or Parsons...there isn't anyone on the market that can make a serious impact...tank for the lottery?
 
But matching would make it difficult for them to get KLove, etc. next summer. 

This is still a good team. Upgrade at C to Tyson. Another year of Monta under Carlisle. If we can get Deng or Ariza if we can't get Parsons, we can contend.

seeing how Love is entertaining the idea of being traded to Clevelan, Miami is going after Deng and Ariza...I don't see many logical, impactful moves for Dallas
 
Parsons coming back is 50 50 right now, Houston still wants to try and make a run at Rondo and other FA in the future. Ariza is holding out to wait on the mavs. Just have to wait now be optimistic. 

Lance, Ariza or Parsons will be a Mav by the end of the weekend. Mark my words

Sarge playing great in Summer League... given it is 1 game but playing with a chip on his shoulder.

If we don't get Chandler Parsons, I'm praying we sign Ariza. Actually, I'd prefer him over Parsons, honestly. He's a great defender (which we desperately need) and his 3-point shooting will help with Jose gone. Plus, I'm sure he won't demand as much money to be signed. He'd also fit in with what our teams have pretty much consisted of over the last few years: solid, veteran players.

Parsons, Ariza, Deng. In that order. I'd be happy with any of them though. I'm okay with Parsons at 3/46 because of youth and upside. The other two, not so much.

I have nothing but love for VC.

He was asked to do wayy more than he should have for us and for the most part he delivered.

That game winner from Game 3 this year is in my top 20 favorite Mav memories in my life.
 
I was at that game. Loudest I've ever heard it in the AAC.

Would've loved for him to end his career with the Mavs.

I hate to see Vince go, but it's probably for the best. I'm happy to see him go to a good team.

I know no one is surprised by the time it's taking Houston to make their decision on Parsons, but this wait is killing me. It seems like the Rockets may end up signing Ariza instead, though.

I read early today that the Mavs are interested in D.J. Augustin...

They could still match Parsons offer reports saying... He is a valuable trade piece and the rockets are lusting for rondo.

I'm sweating guys... free agency has been stressful as a mavs fan
 
Jefferson taking Ellington's role... not an integral part of the bench. Greg Smith is good as a backup if healthy. Love Parsons here. Now to sign Mo Williams....
 
All in all, a great day for us. Parsons fills a void left my Vince, especially since I see his playing minutes in the mid-high 30s. Getting Mo would definitely help with the shooting though. 

So our lineup looks like this:

Harris - Felton - Mekel

Monta - Ledo

Parsons - Crowder - Jefferson

Dirk - Wright

Chandler - Smith

3 spots to fill. Mo Williams hopefully takes 1 spot. Bernard James probably has the inside track on another roster spot. He's been playing really well in the SL. That means 1 spot between Matrix (if he comes cheap), Blair,  Ivan Johnson, maybe Jackie Carmichael, Eric Griffin, and CJ Fair. 
 
Would be nice if Ledo could put a little something together this season and provide some scoring off the bench.... Fill some of that void left by Vince...

Ledo may have to step up because we don't have many other options at the backup 2. 

Read that we could still be in the mix to get a better PG by packaging Felton and Wright for the likes of Bledsoe, Dragic, etc.

Blair is gone though in a potential SnT with Washington.
 
A S&T with Blair would net us a small trade exception, correct?

And there is no way in hell Phoenix trades Bledsoe or Dragic for Felton/Wright.. If they would, we should've had it done by now. :lol:
