Dallas Mavericks 2015-2016 Season Thread

 delon wright will be there at 21 or just trade down in draft for multiple round 2 picks then go after andrew harrison and george de paula cause after payne and grant come off board you might as well gamble
 
man dont question if im mffl i was suffering losing seasons when the mavs had mike izzalino doug smith terry davis and jim jackson sat out half of his rookie season....bruh if we miss on grant i dont think wright will be what we need next season its gonna be a couple season wait....

I'm not too big on him... but the Blazers could scoop him with the next pick. His brother plays for em
 
Ellis is a great player, but I don't think he's one that's able to carry a franchise to the promised land.

More cap space!

yup... it's funny cause monta is headed to Miami or Indiana supposedly where he wouldn't even be the 1st option. Looks like we're interested in Danny green now too.

I'd love for us to draft RJ Hunter if he drops
 
I would agree if Monta made a lot, he doesn't. I much rather have Monta at $8, then Parsons At $15. Management killed the team by trading for Rondo, now Ellis is the fall guy.

If Monta only wants 8 he would still be a Maverick. The problem that he wants 15.

Monta is the fall guy? I love him but he's not worth a ton more than he got paid here... He's an 8-10M a year guy if your team is any good.

I like RJ Hunter or Jerian Grant. RJ Hunter has great wingspan (6'10" for 6'6" height) and a solid stroke - the makings of a great 3-D type player. Jerian Grant would be a solid PG option for us too. Please no Tyus Jones!

Monta is definitely not the fall guy here. Everyone knows Rondo was banished. Unfortunately for Monta, bringing in Rondo killed his value too. Monta's production-to-pay was tops in the league, but we can't afford to lock up cap space to a one dimensional player. An undersized SG with inconsistent 3pt shooting and no defense won't get you very far. I'd love him in a 6th man role at 6-7 mil a year, but definitely not as a starter at ~15 mil/year
 
Hunter got invited to the green room... I hope he falls to us though.

Sign and trade is in play with Monta too... I'd like george hill hell even Luis scola. Miami doesn't really have any attractive pieces maybe only an aging Birdman to offer

Pat Beverly is a target what do y'all think he's worth?

I'd like us to bring back brandon bass too... read that if we were to lure in a big fish like lma or deandre we'd be looking at sam dalembert lol or jermaine cheap vet min guys

Maybe the reports were wrong, but I read that the Mavs were looking to move Ellis's money, they wanted a bigger 2 guard. Then I read that he opted out.

Pat Beverley is an RFA. I don't want to overpay him to take him from Houston. Defense and fleecing from a divisional rival is nice but not for the 10-12MM/year I think we'd need to get him. 

S&T is definitely still in play until Dallas renounces his rights. I like George Hill. Scola not so much; I'd rather bring back Amar'e than take on Scola. 

I always liked Bass. If you think back, he's probably the best backup Dirk has ever had. I also don't think DeAndre is going to happen. I'd rather have LMA for that price, bring back Tyson (depending on price) and bring Dirk off the bench.

$19 mil to LMA (max) + $11 mil to Tyson would eat everything up. This will be an interesting few weeks. Danny Green is probably going to take $10-12, so I don't know how they'll balance things out. I wonder how much Aminu wants. I'm hoping the room MLE at $2.8 is enough. 

Could LMA take a lower 1-year contract and re-up for more next summer? Parsons - Aldridge - Chandler with Dirk and Aminu off the bench would be sick.. 

If we can get LMA, I think that's a pretty compelling reason for some of our FAs to come back at the vet min - Barea, Amar'e, RJ, CV?

I was reading somewhere that LMA could have a pretty hefty backloaded contract that goes into high gear next year and the year after (with the the cap increased).

We need someone to take Felton lol... him + monta for George Hill and a marginal player would be perfect.

It would be great if we could get back all those guys at the vet min. Amare and Barea prolly want a raise though.

I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared this offseason, after the past few summers and the Rondo deal I don't have as much faith in the front office as I used to. Outside of Portland, we're looking like a candidate to fall out of the playoff picture this year in the Western Conference if things go south.

I have a feeling we'll package Felton + 1st round pick to get rid of him. I had forgotten he opted in. That creates plenty a good chunk of space, along with the MLE to sign Amar'e, Barea, and Aminu. 

If you can find that article, can you link it here? I'm curious on the structure of the contract. It sounds like a great loophole to rope LMA here though!

Who is that quote from? Man, I don't know if running LMA at C is going to work. I'd much rather have a solid C in Tyson than Green.
