Truth is that Rondo trade crippled the franchise and Donnie and cuban have been doing a horrible job of thinking every summer they can just spend their way to a good team with ancillary players (Lakers seeing this now too).

Chandler's deal is irrelevant... If we don't land DJ, Chandler opts out next year and it doesn't matter.

If we don't land DJ, that's just about the absolute end of this era, isn't it?

pretty much. They'll overpay for guard, bring back amare, reel in Hibbert and fight for the 10th seed while giving away our pick to the celtics.
 
if yall miss out on DJ, you sign and trade Monta for roy hibbert. at least you'll get a center back. then have a lot of room next year when his deal expires and the cap spikes

I'm dead serious. Bird and Carlisle have a relationship so that helps. It helps both sides if Monta is leaving anyways.

Yeah I know... I've been religiously following all the reports. Better than nothing but damn that frontcourt is slow as hell 
 
man this is gonna be a bad weekend i have a feelin MFFL DJ already told the clippers i aint going nowhere im just bs with dallas..... mark cuban needs to stop playing g.m. stay in skybox fire donnie nelson get a real gm let dirk retire lets hit the bottom cause nobody wants to come to dallas they never did name one free agent that truly really considered coming here since mark cuban bought team in 2000 dampier and monta ellis had to be over paid to come here after 15 years the good days are over and multiple lotto appearances are in sight as a diehard mavs fan im very disappointed that we go out this way every summer showing the top free agents a good time only to be told no everytime sucks i thought when we won in 2011 i thought we'd be back by now yet we let tyson chandler get away twice.... over paid Parson and let monta walk like we had another option smh we have 37 year old dirk ray felton devin harris and rookie justin anderson...we are in trouble instead of booing DJ when he comes back to play against dallas next year we need to boo mark cuban and donnie nelson for all the major strike outs weve had the last 4 years... ps keep the people we draft but make sure we draft well stop half steppin'
 
Looks like we should be getting Wesley Mattews at least. Per David Aldridge...

I'm excited the Wes is going to be a mav. Just hope he recovers completely from that injury.
 
It would be sweet if he can have a full recovery but the odds are against him at this point ...fingers will be crossed for dude bc we haven't had a SG over 6'3 that can play decent perimeter defense since Mike Finley.
 
If it's a done deal, I like landing Wes. But I still say "doing what needs to be done to keep the 2016 pick" should be a priority regardless.
 
Get that pick off the books now... The 2016 draft isn't supposed to be very good, is it?

bottom 7 pick is never guaranteed in this league with all the **** teams.... the draft is looking bleak room still holding out for DJ... he just followed Tyler Seguin and Jamie Benn and a bunch of Dallas dudes on twitter (not that it means much but still).

Nene is also an option I like better than Hibbert if we strike out.

Still would be better to get out from under it ASAP... Would make rebuilding faster IMO if it came to that. And trading easier because we wouldn't have Boston holding it over our head.
