Best Nikes for walking

Going on a trip to Europe next week and will be doing a TON of walking. I've had a few pairs of the Air Max line of shoes and I'm considering the new 2014s. I was wondering if there is a better shoe for lots of walking/comfort. I wear a size 15 and I'm 6'4 290 so I need a lot of support.

Thanks guys!

I guess your best bet would be the new Nike Frees that have released this year (4.0 or 5.0) since those target a more natural feel of motion. I'm guessing your feet won't tire/ache with these after a long day of walking.

Side note: I remember going to Disneyland years back with dunks on w/ Dr. Scholl's insoles and my feet still gave in to the long hours of walking/standing.

Whatever you choose to get, Dr. Scholl's inserts will be a godsend. I have flat feet, and flat footers will know how quickly you can go from fine to pain after a few miles. Consider getting a rubber ball - any handball will do, so you can roll it around on the bottoms of your feet. You'll thank me later.

I'd go with Lunarglide 4 or 5. You need to adapt to the Free, take it moderately, because your foot works more in them. This matters a lot for big guys, 225 and over.

I know you asked for walking and does it have to be a swoosh brand?

I've been purchasing what I like and since I work about 8~9 hours on my feet all day at work shoes that are comfortable in a standing/walking environment.  I've found most of the stuff from the Swoosh brand to be pretty crap for that purpose.  SB Dunks are probably my favorite but without standing around for to long I can't say for sure.

However probably the best for me has been the the Adidas Pure Boost shoes.  Not meant for running or anything really sports related but if you need to get somewhere quick and jog it'll do the job.  The Boost sole is probably the best new sole tech that's come out since the original air bags where placed in nike shoes.  So comfortable for walking, standing and casual.

Right after that the Micro G sole from Under Armour is A+.  Their on the firm side but its so responsive and the cushioning feels like it can hold you up all day.

ASICS Gel running shoes does the trick also in keeping you cushioned for long walks.

I usually stay away from Nike Air Max as they seemed to be tuned more for firm ride so the full length bags won't pop from the pressure of your weight.  Lunarlon is pretty plush but that's the issue that I run into with them.  Being to damn plush ends up with shoes that feels like your sinking sometimes and actually ends up hurting my feet.  I only have a two pairs of shoes with this as the sole tech so need to purchase more before I write it off completely.

I found the hard Phylon in Roshe and Kashi runs to be pretty crap.  For long distance walking they aren't that good at all...not at all....

Hope this helped you out a bit, and please remember this is my opinion and nothing more.  I suggest however you do try out the Adidas Boost shoes however.

If you'll go a long way you need some enhanced support beside the cushioning. Lunarglide 5 or Air Max 2015 should work well for you.

Go for a pair of Nike Air Huaraches. Easily the most comfortable pair of sneakers ever. Feels like you're waling on here. They have absolutely no weight on them. Perfect for walking, running, anything.

Air Max are always hard to not go with. Some of the most comfortable shoes on the market. Lunarglides super underrated.

6'4 290....I would vote to stick with your air max.  Your not a small dude, I would stay away from anything low profile.
