For the last month, my router has been on some other ish, and it won't fix. I've tried that unplug a wait 30 seconds bull over and over, and it hasn't solved a damn thing. My Wifi is turned off on my phone, so I'm using data now.

Tips? Help? Jesus? Something???

Disconnect your modem, from everything.
Plug it all back in, make sure the Ethernet cord & router are all connected to the right ports.

They're not handing out routers now a days... so getting a new one is a final resort

Other than the whole unplug/reset thing, you should plug your laptop directly into the modem to see if it's really the router or the service. If internet works then must be the router. Routers do tend to crap out after a number of years. I had a linksys go strong for 5 years before crapping out.

how old is your router? as someone previously stated, they do go bad after a few years. Most of the time with most problems with wifi signal, replacing the router will fix it.

if you end up replacing your router, i would recommend the Asus RT-AC66U or the Netgear R7000. They are both great routers and will last you a long time

Bro I got the same problem. It's in the living room and it doesn't reach my room. It just happened from 1 day to another

What do you have for a router?... I'm able to use the Cisco Express app to download updates and factory reset my router... Handy little app...

Thought this said "My wife is garbage" and I started dying,

Jeez you guys are terrible help..

OP, what kind of modem and router do you have ? Connecting via Mac or PC? What is your ISP?

Budget: I'm willing to hit whatever it takes
Type of modem: Netgear
Age: I think this is year 3-4, it's right next to the modem we've had since FOREVER
ISP: TWC
Connecting: Acer PC, if your asking what's running on it, my xbox, my phone, the computer, and our land lines

First, identify what's causing the problem. This could be your ISP, your modem, or your router

Plug your ethernet cable directly from your PC to your MODEM, do not worry about your ROUTER for now.

Disable the wifi adapter on your PC in network settings under control panel. Are you able to make a connection to the MODEM? If not, your MODEM is the issue. Call your ISP and have it tested. Is it faulty? If you lease the modem, they will replace it for you. If you own your modem yourself, buy a motorola surfboard from amazon for ~$50.

If you're able to get a connection via your MODEM, connect the ROUTER to the modem, and connect ethernet directly from your PC to the ROUTER. Open a web browser and type "192.168.1.1" into the address bar. If it prompts you for a username and password, its usually just "admin" or "administrator" and "password".

Once you're in, I would just do a factory reset and re-name your wifi SSID, and be sure to put up a new password.

Let us know what happens after all that, might be easiest to just call up time warner and troubleshoot with them as well..

Called TWC up, they had me reset the modem, it's up and running now.
Although this is like time #3 I've done this, and I kinda want a fully functional one.
Thanks for the help guys

Since they had you reset your modem and not your router is it possible that the modem is the issue and not the router? What speed are you getting from your isp? 20mbps, 40mbps etc? I had an issue where my old modem wasn't able to keep up with the speeds that my isp was giving me so once I got a new docsis 3 modem that fixed my issue.
