I'm a real chill dude--a home body type of fellow. A good date night for me would be cooking dinner with the lady and watching a movie. It's really that simple for me...

Sometimes, however, it's nice to switch things up a bit: spice up the weekend/afternoon/evening with something new, if you will. Thus, with this thread, I was hoping we could share and exchange ideas on things to possibly do with and for our ladies on date nights.

...

I live in NY but spend a great deal of time in CT, so one thing the lady and I are planning to do is to go fruit and vegetable picking at a local CT farm. It's a fun activity, you get to pick your own food, and more often than not these farms will offer recipes that cater to the produce you just picked.

The price of your produce is dictated by the weight, like in your neighborhood grocery store...so how much you spend is really up to you. Still, you can't beat picking and inspecting your own food--right from the farm. If this is something that's interesting to you, check out http://www.pickyourown.org/index.htm#states for farms in your region.

We're also considering taking up dance classes together; i'll let y'all know how that goes...

That said, please share your date night/day activities. If it involves cooking, feel free to post recipes. Additionally, if costs are associated with said activity, try to make mention of it.

Soooo...what are some nice activities y'all like to do?

IDowntown Dallas...

There's 2 parks that have food, music and space...

Walking places on a date has gotten me great results...

So I invite them to the crib... Then we walk to the park and chill... (3 blocks away)

There's also a trolley that takes you from downtown to uptown... And uptown has all the good places and bars...

Chicks spazz out when we ride the trolley. :pimp: :pimp:

Top golf is clutch for me too.

I hear good things about Top Golf, but isn't that place pretty expensive and has a long waiting list?

Downtown parks are good

$40 for the two people for an hour...

And go tons little eatery after. Their food is too expensive...

Also...

Gun range
Simulated sky dive
Food festivals
Plays (cheap casual ones)
Different food places...

I took a chick to Snappy Salad once... She was on my D for a minute. Lol.

Take her on a boat/ferry ride.  Something about being off land that makes the faucet leak....

Tell me if I am alone here.

I do not like going to the club with the person I am with. I can't dance and I personally don't care for clubs after 30 mins or so.

I am good when it comes to activities in the day time. I am super creative there. No complaints. But a lot of nights end up in the house as for me options are limited when you exclude a bar/club/lounge. I don't drink so that limits my options too.

Yea I know you can go to the movies, a play, comedy club, but how often do you really want to do those things? You don't want them to lose their effect.

And going out to eat gets tiring after a while. Seems like no effort is put into that.

But ideas for DC Area folks

1. The Hyatt Regency in Bethesda (right by METRO) has $10 comedy shows on Saturday Nights around 8. Low level comedy but I always find myself laughing regardless.

2. RebounderZ: The indoor trampoline spot. Google it. Fun as hell man

3. Bike Share: Ride bikes with the damn girl

4. Take her down Barry Farms and catch a few Goodman League Games.

5. Take a stroll around downtown DC at night. Especially around the Monument and WW2 Memorial. WW2 Memorial looks good at night man.

6. Walk around Old Town Alexandria

Those are some basics.

When in doubt

^^ I hear you on all fronts DC, hence the thread.

I DON'T go to clubs, period; plus I don't really drink so bars/lounges are out of the question for me.

Dinner (restaurant) and a movie is cool, but that recipe can get stale and expensive after a while. Even so, the point of this thread isn't to discourage anyone from doing the normal chill things you do with your significant other. The point is to occasionally mix it...to infuse something different every now and then.

I won't ever stop loving being a home-body; I won't ever stop wanting to try out different recipes gleaned from a cook book followed by a movie marathon. Those things are fun and exciting for me, so to keep them that way, I occasionally feel the need to "mix-it-up".

So far, I've gotten two really solid ideas from this thread: pizza from scratch and ferry boat ride...:smokin

I feel you 100% on that club thing dC.

& I forgot about the comedy clubs. Those things are clutch here in Dallas.

They have two improv comedy clubs and I get discount to them all the time. They send coupons for shows that won't sell really well and if you go to them enough times do you start to get them consistently...

Saw Jarrad Carmichael for $10...

Hit up free birds afterwards...

Was a :pimp: night

Will try that pizza idea with the main yamb...

Have to go to the biggest park in your city in the summer time at night and/or beach

Central Park ftw

Couple things I've done so far that could work as date ideas. I don't really like the movies + eat "date" thing but I've done it.

Hit the movies and then go out to eat after.

Go to a park somewhere, or sit in the car or outside and just have a good conversation

Shopping/walking the mall the whole day and playing games while inside: I spy, making jokes about people that walk by, people watching, etc

Fishing, ice cream/frozen yogurt, out for dinner.

Looking to go to some poetry clubs, art museums, to the basketball court (yes, to ball on a girl lol), some nature walks, out of town for something, bike riding, etc

I think it's been mention but the gun range is always fun. Just know what you're doing and if you don't, don't front like you do. Groupon and other sites always have deal on lessons

Usually do a sushi night
Get a bottle of sake, some beers
Hit up a movie afterwards
Walk around downtown area
