Gone Girl - starring Ben Affleck directed by David Fincher 10/03/2014

Got half way through the trailer. Looks amazing, but it was starting to give too much away. After True Detective, I've realized that the less I know going in, the more I enjoy.

Day ******* One 8)

Just seen the trailer on FB and it looks fantastic..I don't know how I feel about Tyler Perry being in anything serious..Affleck looks legit in it and Doogie is doing some drama which is nice to see..

Saw Gone Girl last night at the Press and Industry screening at the NYFF.

Hell of a film. Darker than anything Fincher has done since Se7en. This would have been a very different film in another directors hands, you can feel that through every scene.

There are 4 stars of this film.

1. Affleck gives just about a career best performance.
2. Rosemund Pike steals the show - she's getting an Oscar nomination for sure. The audience hated her guts and it was brilliant. She's utterly fantastic.
3. Flynn's screenplay should get an oscar nomination too. The script is brilliant.
4. Fincher's vision for the film.

I watched the film blind, meaning I did not read the book prior. At the end, you know you watched something great but you're left confused and quickly feel like you have to analyze so much it gets a bit overwhelming. Gone Girl has so many layers, here's the best way to describe it while still fresh on my mind.

It feels like Flynn's story & screenplay along with Fincher's directing are playing Operation with the sanctity of marriage.

That trailer gave away a lot. But this movie is interesting. Surprised no one has done a
Movie with this sypnosis until now. Stuff like this happens often

I forgot Emily Ratajkowski is in this. She have a small role? She show anything?

Saw Gone Girl last night and tbh... I was a little underwhelmed. Just a little. It was a great movie, no doubt, there were parts that gave me chills, but coming from Fincher I expected a little more. Too me it just wasn't on the same level as Se7en, Zodiac, TSN, and Fight Club.

Still good nonetheless.

EDIT: BA's performance was :pimp:
Without spoiling the movie there was a scene where his character had to act. BEN killed that scene!
Everybody on Reddit is circle jerking Rosamund Pike's performance and I honestly could care less about it.
Fincher's directing :pimp:
The editing! :pimp:
The score! :x

and....

Tyler Perry's performance was

I was actually surprised at how well he did.

Tyler Perry isn't a bad actor, its just he sucks at writing so he looks bad in his own films than he would under the guidance of someone more talented.
