Gone Girl - starring Ben Affleck directed by David Fincher 10/03/2014

See, me and my brother was discussing this. This is his train of thought.

Mine?

I feel like when she watched that interview, she was happy because she felt like she won, she finally got him to admit that he was wrong, and things like that. However, since she was missing and assumed dead, and she was with this guy who was obsessed with her, she had to find a way to get out of this situation. The only way out of that predicament she felt, was to play against his past as a convicted stalker and what not. So she killed him, left, and made it look like a kidnapping.

That's how I interpreted it. One of the central themes in the movie was media manipulation and Nick used that to his advantage. He conveyed the words she wanted to hear and given her unfortunate circumstance with getting robbed and crazy NPH, she had to resort to Plan B.

Solid movie. Intriguing plot and all around great acting. Enjoyed it. For those who are still on the fence, go watch it.

Can someone please explain to me why Nick said he and his wife were "partners in crime" at the end? Then the movie ends 10 seconds later.

It makes me think he was somehow in on it. He can't be though if he told the detective and Tyler Perry that she confessed to him in the shower.

That part really messed my head up.

Also, with the woman being so smart and calculated... why the heck would she take all of that money with her miniature golfing?

That was some BS

I thought it was the best movie in recent memory.

However.........

I paid $7 to see the matinee this morning....... Everything's going good, until she gets into the Hideaway house with Doogie Hauser,
.......................
all of a sudden OUT OF NOWHERE.......3 Kids sit next to me ....... This fat Kid was sucking on his straw like it would magically make more soda materialize in his cup.

I put up with it for about 10 minutes, then I had to move to the other side of the theater.

LOL at the dude in NYC who took the most L's the whole movie.

I don't think he was in on it, he probably said it with the intentions of, "b*tch, i know what you did and i'm here for the kid, but your day will come..."

I keep hearing how good this movie is, and I usually go see most movies, but I have no interest in this one for some reason. I guess I'll just catch it on Netflix...

Pretty sure it has something to do with her just wanting all of that money to be with her at all times. I lowkey would have done the same thing.

saw it this past weekend...movie was :smokin. one of the best movies I saw this year. everyone killed their roles & the twists :wow:.

when his wife came back home towards the end I wanted to be like

0-4 seconds

Why didn't they wash the blood off her at the hospital?

Me and girl said the same thing

I enjoyed the movie but I agree with others saying the ending was flat and kind of rushed. I did notice the movie's length as well

Recommend it but I don't think it's necessarily a must see in theaters

C/s the Perry comments as well

Terrific movie. Just got home from watching it. Big Fincher and Affleck fan so i had high expectations.

I think Amy became this way because Desi raped her. Thats what got her on her path. I dont think she intended to do what she did to Affleck when she met him. Its when he started getting "lazy" that Amy began her bad thoughts, and ultimately Affleck cheating on her was the final straw.

WHOA.

:x

:smh:

I don't eem know where to begin after watching this.

I swear I feel like I dodged a HUGE bullet after watching this because my ex was on some psycho ****. Glad she wasn't smart enough to trap me, but believe me she tried. This movie ****** my whole head up with how far a woman can take things out of spite. I hated Ben's character at the end. :smh: Dude has to live in fear for the rest of his life and didn't do **** to trap her or expose her.

I can't stress how much I feel like I dodged a bullet though. I got set up a few times and just saw the signals before **** went down. Holy ****.

Movie 100% lived up to the hype. Didn't read the books so went in blind. First half hour or so starts off very slow, but from that point on it's a crazy roller coaster of a movie. Best movie I've seen in recent memory.

"What are you thinking? How are you feeling? Who are you? What have we done to each other? What will we do?"

Even if the movie doesn't ring "true" or even close to it for most people, I think these are some of the core thoughts and feelings in any intimate relationship between two people.

As for "dodging a bullet" as BS alluded to above me, there are many of us who are probably only a bad decision or two away from being on either side of that equation. Food for thought

:wow:
