OFFICIAL FIBA World Cup Spain 2014 Thread

Well hopefully both Kings players make the team so we can show the rest of the world what the Gay-Cousins combo can do

Considering the fact that Rudy was on the team when they made a successful 2010 run, this is certainly good news.

Rudy be flourishing in the ACB...hate he left the nba but I respect it :frown:

he didnt want to be a "role player" in the league. had ppl thinking he was gonna be like manu, but ended up being just another player in the league

I'm still low-key mad the Lakers didn't get Fernandez as part of the Odom trade with the Mavs a few years ago.

Spain is real. If they had some athletic wings it would be really scary. Good thing USA hogs all the athleticism on the perimeter.

I remember when Patty Mills was scoring 20 against Team USA, good to see he's become a great player off the bench

Naw, I believe that was 2006 during the World Championship ...

Patty Mill's coming out party was in 2008

Yeah I still have that 2008 game on my external HD. Even though USA blows most teams out I still love watching those games. Rudy Fernandez was murdering in 2008 as well. Too bad he didn't amount to **** in the NBA

Loved his first year in the league at Portland. He broke the rookie record for most 3s in a season at the time. Made really dynamic plays alongside fellow countryman Sergio Rogriguez but once Sergio left, Rudy became a different player. Became a bit whiny and like you said, didnt want that role player role off the bench and enjoyed the game a lot less. Unfortunate he didn't last in the league, he had all the right tools and fundamentals but lacked the drive and determination to improve his game to fit the NBA.

Is he even playing for Spain this year? Great passing and volume shooting if he does.

Yep. Baby Shaq was 2006. As much as the Puerto Rico game was a nightmare in 2004, it wasn't terribly surprising considering the slide Team USA on at the time. That semifinal in 2006 though...woof. My buddy and I were screaming at the TV at one o'clock in the morning. By 2 am, we were like, "I really wish the bars were still open". That was depressing.
