2014 LUNAR TR1 - Next Gen = Lunar Caldra?

I don't think they are crazy narrow as you guys say an I have wide feet , they do fit TTS I think what the prob is the gold hyperfuse where the lil white nike shoe is where its tight at

Yeah, that's where it's tight for me too. I wore em while I was boxing and that **** was no bueno.

Hopefully it stretches then. I like mine to fit a bit snug because I don't like movements of my foot sliding sideways and also because most Nikes tend to stretch everywhere too.

Yeah Goodluck trying to break it in. I think I broke my foot in. Rather than the shoes itself.

DAMN!

Feel like cancelling my order now than even bothering trying the shoes and risking injury.

One thing don't get about this shoe is the name. Like we already got a Lunar TR1 back in 2012, why not change the name and call it the Lunar TR2 or TR1 2014 or something?

Got my pair and I do not see the same problem most have with the toe being tight and I have a pretty wide feet too. The toebox is much more flattened down than it looks in the pics so maybe that's where most are having problems? I like it though, gives it a more lockdown feel. There are some heel slippage and there's maybe 1/4 of a size too big even though I get the same in almost all my trainers, not sure sizing down will work though because it'll be too tight.

They already have a TR2 but they have free soles instead of Lunar.

Maybe they wanted to make it strictly TR1 = Lunar and TR2 = Free ?

I think you can consider this the 2014 TR1.

Quick review after a session of plyo.

Initial thought once you wear these shoes is that it is long, it just looks long and narrow when it doesn't really feel that way and I have a rather wide foot. As I mentioned before the toe part is rather flat and really hugs the front, I personally like this because it feels more locked down but this might be where other feel it is too tight.

Traction on these are amazing, very similar to the Hyperfeel TRs where it just has a lot of protruding rubbers (not even sure if there is a name for it but they are like mini rubber cleats?) but this one is a bit better as they are bigger and looks liek it can stand more outdoor wear than the Hyperfeel TR. These types of traction is simply amazing to me, I love it.

Ventilation on the shoe is pretty good as well, I feel the Hyperfeel TR/Flyknit upper is better but these are pretty good as well. The toe part and tongue are full mesh and it feels good when there is a breeze. Combination of mesh and fused material really help smake the shoe light, not the lightest but not bad at all.

Flywire reinforcement is the usual, very very good lockdown. Not much to say there.

Nice cushioning on the top of the ankle, helps "cup" your heel to the shoe and keeps it in there but there were still some heel slippage. I discuss further below but I am not sure if it will exactly help if I size down.

The shoe also feels very wide and stable. Lateral movements are great, the fused sides along with the slightly raised midsole (the midsole angel/rise from the toe to the forefoot) really helps in preventing your feet from rolling. Balancing on one foot is easier too because of it's wide platform and once that flywire is locked down tight, however not many prefer these as some prefer more unstable feel when doing single leg squats to help work it's core but I figure it's a good way to describe the shoe from both ends.

Those are the goods, these are the bads...

Minor complaint but the tongue shape up top kind of curves and is a bit stiff and when I lace up the shoe all the way to the last lachole, the top of the tongue digs to the side of my ankle when doing twists and pivots. Lacing it up to the second last lacehole helped resolve this problem.

The shoe is long so even though it fits true to size (my usual 9.5) I feel it kind of gives some heel slippage though once I got going, i didn't notice it anymore. It's also probably due to my feet being used to Hypefeels that just doesn't have that heel slippage so the slightest upward movement on the heels feels much worse. Again it wasn't as noticeable once I got going but it was still there, I'll try and size down half and see if that will solve the problem or just be too tight.

Lunar on the midsole is fine but I wasn't very impressed. I mean I have no complaints but I prefer the Free Trainer 3.0 and Hyperfeel cushioning. It also feels like it might bottom out quicker but then again I do not have many experience with lunars bottoming out so take that with a grain of salt.

Overall, a very good shoe. Great traction, good lockdown, ventilation is nice and great stability. It will make my rotation for sure.

The shoe is light but the heaviest in comparison to my other trainers shoes (Free Trainer 3.0 & Hyperfeel TR) and has some heel slippage but those are very minor complaints.

^, thank you sir. Appreciate that info, been looking to pick up a pair. Can you compare them to the 2012 Lunar TR1? I love that shoe.

New Eagles/LeSean McCoy colorway set to release on September 15th. These will be instacopped to go along with my Shady Huarache Free Shields from last year.

Now these got my attention!! No colorways really got me and price too high for my likings

Sorry, never owned or tried on the 2012 TR1s so I can't compare the two.

Update, sized down another half size and it works better for me, gets rid of that extra length and the shoes feels more secure. There was still some heel slippage though, I mostly notice my heel lifts when I run/jog, when doing regular training it doesn't seem too noticeable on my part.

These look great for lifting but not sure how the lunar would hold up if squatting heavy.

Wish these were zoom based :nerd:

NIIIICE. Spotted those online the other day too. Been waiting for a colorway I could work with. Anyone have an idea what's on the tongue?

Oregon, FSU, Georgia, and Texas' pairs are all really nice.

Probably gonna grab the FSUs.

I love the detailing on the heels, each something specific to the schools. The Longhorn logo running all over the Texas ones is really dope.

Yeah, Alabama's is blank, although it would have been sweet to put houndstooth print on there and I am gonna take a stab at the Sooners and say that's its supposed to resemble the dust coming off the Boomer Schooner?? But really, I have no clue so if someone has better information, please let us know!
