i'm thinking maybe they were waiting for 2k to drop to they could mimic and adjust things. You figure 2011 they waited and completely scrapped the game when they saw 2k had jordan on board. They knew there was no point. I'm guessing this year they feel they have a good base to build on and now are polishing the code to be able to fully compete.

Here's how it all works. Synergy Sports is a sports technology company that provides near real-time analytics and data to all 30 NBA teams. Here’s a quick look at some of the info and functionality they provide:

• Ability to look up team and players when executing play types like post-ups, pick and rolls, isolations, off screens, spot-ups, transitions and more
• Sort video for shot attempts: Catch and shoots, jump shot off the dribble, and drives to the basket
• Watch video of traditional stats: Shots, assists, rebounds, steals turnovers, etc.
• Useful charts demonstrate jump shot range and player’s drive and post-up tendencies
• Interactive shot charts let you find shots for any part of the game, or sort shots by play type, bench vs. starters, individual players and much more
• View and sort video by man-to-man or zone, end or side out-of-bound plays, after time-out plays, time the team pushes the ball in transition

• Unique graphics and charts make Synergy’s advanced statistics come alive
• Leaderboards let you assess any player in hundreds of categories, and compare them to the rest of the players in their league

NBA teams use this data to build scouting reports, coach players and much more. This data is available at an extraordinarily granular level for all games after their completion.

So how does Synergy Sports Technology work with NBA LIVE? Synergy Sports provides us a direct feed of player scouting DNA and Tendencies. We are then able to take this data and apply it to our game – which dynamically affects player tendencies in-game, as well as modes such as LIVE Seasons and Tonight’s Games.

This information also tells us things that don’t appear in the box score, such as shots off the dribble or if a player was being guarded - which all influence ratings. One of the goals we have for the future of NBA LIVE is to remove subjectivity from player ratings and performance – a true 1:1 representation of each and every player in the league.

So let’s take Kevin Love, for example. In his new home in Cleveland – playing alongside LeBron James and Kyrie Irving – how he plays will be much different than when he was in Minnesota.

As a result, his tendencies will change as he settles in. With Synergy Sports Technology integration, you will see those adjustments in real time.

This means that when you go to play against the Cavs – you will notice a different play style from Kevin that you will have to account for as the season progresses.

Synergy Sports Technology also drives our BIG Moments and NBA Rewind features. Once a game is finished in real life, we are able to take Synergy Sports data and instantly create LIVE Season challenges based on the stats and highlight plays from that game. 

BIG Moments are key plays or stretches of the game such as a player having a huge quarter or a thrilling game winning buzzer beater. You then can play through these quick scenarios with the exact stats, tendencies, and line-ups on a per minute basis.

The key to providing this experience is the fast data delivery from Synergy Sports Technology – so after Damian hits that clutch buzzer-beating shot, you’ll be able to jump on NBA LIVE 15 and see if you can do it yourself.

There will be some growing pains as Minnesota enters the post Kevin Love era. But their haul (Andrew Wiggins, Anthony Bennett, Thaddeus Young) should be exciting. Look out for Ricky Rubio (contract year!), as well as second-year Gorgui Dieng.

DENVER NUGGETS
13TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The Nuggets missed the playoffs last season for the first time since 2003, winning just 36 games. Expect a bigtime season from Kenneth Faried, who was impressive in international action over the summer.

SACRAMENTO KINGS
12TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The Kings hope the additions of Darren Collison and Ramon Sessions can compensate for the loss of Isaiah Thomas, who signed with Phoenix in the offseason. Rudy Gay shined after being traded to the Kings, and is a solid wing scorer alongside the beastly DeMarcus Cousins.

LOS ANGELES LAKERS
11TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The return of Kobe Bryant is cause for excitement in Tinsel Town, but questions surround this roster. Can Steve Nash stay healthy? How will Byron Scott fare in his first year as Lakers head coach?

NEW ORLEANS PELICANS
10TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

After shining in international play over the summer, Anthony Davis appears primed for world domination in 2014-15. The Pelicans should be improved with the addition of Omer Asik, who brings plenty of defense and rebounding to the frontcourt. 

PHOENIX SUNS
9TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

Despite winning 48 games in 2013-14, the Suns narrowly missed the playoffs in a loaded Western Conference. The addition of Isaiah Thomas improves an already loaded backcourt. Can this exciting team crack the top eight?

HOUSTON ROCKETS
8TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The Rockets suffered a disappointing offseason after losing out on Chris Bosh, and then watching Chandler Parsons sign with rival Dallas. Still, the Rockets will be a force with James Harden and Dwight Howard involved.

MEMPHIS GRIZZLIES
7TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The Grizzlies' upset bid of Oklahoma City fell just short in the playoffs, but they should be tough again. Look for a huge season out of center Marc Gasol, who enters a contract year.

DALLAS MAVERICKS
6TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The Mavs proved the toughest test in San Antonio's march to the title, as they took the Spurs to seven games in round one. Their pickup of Chandler Parsons was a big one, as he should provide them with plenty of size and scoring on the wing.

PORTLAND TRAIL BLAZERS
5TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

Last season's breakout team looks to build on their trip to the Western Conference Semifinals. NBA LIVE 15 Cover Athlete Damian Lillard and forward LaMarcus Aldridge are as good as it gets at their respective positions. 

GOLDEN STATE WARRIORS
4TH IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

New head coach Steve Kerr takes over a loaded roster that includes the "Splash Brothers" of all-world point guard Stephen Curry and Klay Thompson. If the Warriors can get healthy years out of Andrew Bogut and Andre Iguodala, they'll be a tough out.

OKLAHOMA CITY THUNDER
3RD IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

The Thunder will always be contenders as long as they have MVP Kevin Durant, Russell Westbrook, and Serge Ibaka. But OKC will be without Durant for the first couple months. Free agency is beginning to loom for the Thunder, and there's a real sense of urgency with this team.

LOS ANGELES CLIPPERS
2ND IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

With the injury to Kevin Durant, the Clippers open 2014-15 as the second-best team out West. After last year's thrilling seven-game playoff series, all Clippers-Warriors games will be must-see television.

SAN ANTONIO SPURS
1ST IN WESTERN CONFERENCE

Who else? The Spurs put on a basketball clinic en route to their fifth title, and are among the favorites again. Expect San Antonio to manage their minutes better than anyone in the league, with their eyes firmly on playing in June.
