Not the most major thing in the world, but it's just something that annoys me. Take Target for example. When you're paying for items, the cashier will usually ask you if you'd like to sign up for a Target card and save 5% ( :wow: ) on your purchase. Most cashiers are fine with you saying "no thanks," but occasionally you'll get one who won't let it go even after you politely decline. "You can save some money." "No thanks." "Are you sure?" "I'm good..." If I REAAAALLY wanted the card I would sign up. It is what it is doe..hope yall have a good Sunday.

It comes down to two things: Them wanting to lock in another customer to a contract or a sense of membership that causes them to become regulars and wanting to show their managers how many customers they've gotten to sign up.

They shouldn't push, but I can see why they do it.

When my girl was pregnant, I'd have random strangers walk up and rub her belly. Always the older ladies that do it.

open road

3 lanes

you in a clear lane doing 70

car in front with no cars in front no upcoming exits going 50 decides at last possible moment to change to your lane

why the **** ...........

When you going to a session and someone be like "Well, I ain't got any money or nothing but I brought some Swishers" and the swishers look like they were stored in the arid desert.

:smh:

Was this OP's intention?

For some reason it seems like he wanted the thread to be about having annoying memberships pushed on you

Obviously.

 "You know what I hate, when people totally derail my threads."

Back to the OG topic, I really hate that as well. When I worked at FL I would always mention the card and if they said no I would drop it immediately. I could never have done marketing/advertising because I hate selling people things they don't want/need.

They used to do the same thing with the insole and shoecleaner sales.

Manager: Why didn't you try and sell him some insoles?"
Me: He bought a pair of $200 Jordans with zoom air insoles...he doesn't need gel insoles and they'd would be worse for basketball. :/
Manager: You better sell 5 by the end of the day though. -_-

You gotta learn to look them deep in their eyes, and state, "i appreciate it, but no thank you."

Dont know what it is (and i know i am not saying much) but since i started stopping whatever is im doing (when im ignoring them), look at them, and let them KNOW, i dont get anymore lip.

:pimp:

Target cashiers push that because if they dont get 3-7 a week, they get "written up."

I go to Target a lot. I can't remember the last time I was asked to sign up for their card.

I use to push the Victoria's Secret CC like a mutha when I worked there. And now I feel bad for having asked any customer to sign up for such an awful card.

But at least they all got discounts from me regardless of approval or purchase total.

I don't get it as bad as some of you guys with customer service.

I buy online so much I don't even remember the last time I even dealt with a sales person

Nothing worse than trying to cancel a service and having to listen to all the discounts they have to offer you to try to keep you on.:x

I remember being fresh out of hs and working at finish line.

There was this system where you had to sell accessories along with the sneakers. So you had to offer socks, shoe cleaner, laces etc.

I'm not a dude that likes to force things on people so I used to ask once and if they said no, oh well.

So one day it was pretty busy and I only sold 2 or 3 accessories with sneakers. Out of my 18b sales

It was busy as hell, I didn't have time to demonstrate how the shoe cleaners work etc...

Next day my assistant manager said that if I went 2/18 like John Starks again I'd be fired...

So I never came again because I'm not with it.

Moral of the story is sometimes they are pushy because they are under some sort of pressure.

U know what I really dislike
When I call customer service
And some person picks up and it's hard to understand them
Cause there English is broken or they BARELY Speak it
Had to call up dell and another electronics manufacturer one time **** irked my nerves
Tryna get them to understand
