Comcast 'embarrassed' by employee who resists customer's effort to cancel service

Jesus, why do u guys pay so much? I rather wait and torrent a TV show. I definitely cut the cord if was paying $100+

$90 ? $124? I'd love to see those prices on my bill.

I just had internet for the first couple of years and it was like $20 for 6 month and then $60 afterwards. They got me on getting a $20 package cause I thought I was going to get ESPN and then with monthly fees, it comes out to $90. The only thing that is nice is having On Demand and getting to watch shoes afterwards whenever I want and I believe I can watch some shows for channels I don't have. And all this is non HD. I am going to either get an upgrade for nothing or cancel my cable and keep internet.

Pretty much what I do. I just DL House of Cards in HD and binged on it straight. As long as I have internet, I can pretty much get anything except sports.

If you don't mind a bit of delay sometimes you can even stream games. I do it all the time during NFL season when I don't have the funds for the bar.

I hear uverse sucks

tv quality is way better than standard cable. I believe its basically IPtv which means youre using the same connection for the internet for the tv so youre sharing your bandwidth between all your telecom devices. But for the value there isnt anything better no complaints.

Comcast and Uverse SUCKS.

Comcast representatives are so stuck to the books and cannot provide quality customer service. I had on and off service for 5 days and they offered to take off $5  .

I was talking to reps that sounded like immature high-schoolers. Complained with a direct number from an NTer and I got $80 off my bill.

My friend had uverse and their HD was terrible when they were downloading or using heavy web services.

Time Warner >

FiOs sucks. And their reps are annoying as ****. They come door to door every other month. I heard the guy tell my mom one time "well everyone else around you has it". As if we were supposed to feel bad about having the inferior service . I told him to leave that day.

For DTV I pay 130 I believe for the cable, internet and HBO. Includes all the Spanish Chanel's the good channels, amc, FX, MtV, ESPN, TNT, etc, record and watch tv at the same time on 3 tvs. Not bad.

I feel robbed. How do you have that on 3 tv's and I have ONE tv and ONE DVR and paying close to $200. **** is insanity man.

Im scared now I need cable and internet but my only choices are dish and direct tv. I had direct at my old house and they kept messing up my bill. Ill be damned if I pay more than 100 a month for cable and internet tho.

This is inside baseball, but does anyone else that knows who Ryan Block is find the irony that he sold Engadget to AOL/Time Warner, who in turn will be bought by Comcast? I'm pretty sure this whole recording was done as a PR play  knowing how much pull he has on the internet and how horrible Comcast is.

Either way, well done sir!

Fios customer service is the worst

Takes about 45 to get a $5 mistake charge off your bill; it's insane
It's absolutely horrible. You cant go to a physical store and get things situated. Over the phone they keep transferring you because "that's not their department" and "they're going to get you to the right department" but you get bunch runaround.

DO NOT, DO NOT, agree with a plan over the phone with fios. The guy lied to me and got charged like $40 a month more per month. Called and spent countless hours on the phone. It didn't get fixed until I emailed everybody in their corporate department and wrote to the better business bureu. I found it ridiculous that they couldn't just couldn't tack down the rep and fix it. I feel that their reps will bs you because you'll never get a hold of the same guy again to fix your problem

Comcast cs is the reason I don't mess with them.

I call directv every six months, threaten to leave and they always hook it up with a deal.

I remember when Fios was rolling out in MD, Comcast was so shook, damn near started offering Handy Js to customers if they threaten to cancel

I listened to this earlier today...wild stuff. Dude had a lot more patience than what I would have shown.

FiOS >
He was recording it to post online.

Gotta seem like the chillest dude ever.

Haven't had any problems with Comcast in my area. :\

They're always helpful & I can easily get a discount if I wanted to.

Only pay $78 a month for Internet & basic cable if that matters.

I pay $119/month for cable and internet from Comcast. I bought my own modem to take off the $8 rental fee and have HD channels, NBA TV, MLB TV, etc. No movie channels though. They charge $10/HD box and I have 4.

Pay $130 for phone, internet, and cable with Cablevision. I have the sports and showtime package as well.

I'm not sure how Comcast's phone service works but why couldn't he just hang up, call back, and try his luck getting another representative after realizing the rep wasn't going to budge?
Unless he was on hold for a long time? :smh:
Seems like he's wasting both their time.

Because the point was to post it online to show how bad it is. Ryan Block is no fool since he's a multi-millionaire tech guy.

Side note, didn't realize gdgt was also acquired by AOL.

My dude dropping gems. Always have been. One of my favorite nters. And this is exactly why we can't let them pass net neutrality bills on some you can't switch your isp type stuff
