Hey guys I have an interview next week at my local footlocker and I was just wondering from former employees or current employees what are the pros and cons from working with the company? Any feedback would be appreciated....btw I have a day job and just gonna work there for extra cash after work

Pros :

Employee discount can be nice, but you won't get your hands on any of the good stuff.

Cons :

Everything else.

If you're boss / coworkers are chill, it can be ok to work there, but there is way better out there.

They don't give you free lunches.

There was a post about people getting free lunches from their company here on NT so I thought Footlocker, being a large company, would give out free lunches too since we gotta work mad hours for crap pay.

Worked there for 4 years.. Then went to Hibbet

My advice ..work there for a year... Gain experience, then go sell either cell phones for Verizon or ATT...

Or mattresses.

Very SRS

I'm 28 and I've been at trader joes for 11 years and this is just something to help with extra cash

28 and working at footlocker?

Unless you are working as a manager you need a higher paying job my man.

Bro if your struck in that position find a nice restaurant and go.serve

It's above Min.wage and you eat good

My cousin worked there. He described it as a slave trade, I can only assume that pertains good things

Glassdoor.com

You're welcome.
Yeah don't use Glassdoor unless if it's for a minimum wage retail or fast food gig

Most companies will force their employees or HR reps to write glowing 5-star reviews that are so obviously fake. The "Cons" section will always say something like "Company is experiencing rapid growth so it might be hard for those without a work ethic to keep up!" or some BS like that.

Most Glassdoor reviews are either fake reviews or disgruntled employees warning about the fake reviews

you can tell which ones are real.

And I've found large company jobs to be quite accurate

No other option? Footlocker treats their employees like ****. I started working at FootAction at 16 (2000-2002), then went back in 2006 where they made me Asst Mang. I wouldnt recommend it. Pay is for the birds. I don't know what your situation so you gotta do what you gotta do.

Up until like 2010 it was beneficial to work there for the once-a-month 50% off everything in the store...plus the friends-and-family which you can pimp the system and pocket good side money if you know how to do it. I know they've gotten a lot more tight about discounts and holding shoes...my boy works there and was STANDING IN LINE for the White/Cement 4's when they dropped...mind you he had a shift later that day

Being that shoe dude had its perks with the yambs when I started working there (may 2007 - October 10).

I got a BUNCH of 17-20 y/os while I worked there... The yambs were like layups.

And dude above me is right.

I made more money during the F&F 30% off days though... Those transactions were so much easier than trying to go through the employee 50% off weekends, plus the paper trail was a lot less incriminating.

If they paid credit card, I was chunking them all kinds of cleaners and socks... Telling them its free.

Of they paid cash... "Ay bro... These fusions $160 BEFORE tax... Almost 180 with... I'll slide them yo way for $150 flat straight cash no receipt"

Dope boys used to rock with me... I was bringing home $1k total at the end of those weekends...

$1k to a 21 year old was a lot of money!

I realized that the money is buns though... Once they started to crack down on T discounts...

Plus I had to wait in line for kicks and I work at this b-?

That's why I say go sell cell phones or mattresses....

Full timers can pull in $60k easy

I have a night job at a bar and I'm trying to leave it so being around shoes all day won't hurt plus like I said at trader joes I make $21 so just extra side money will be good

, would pocket some decent $$$ (for the time being), also would get people to buy you some clothes/food in exchange for the hook-up.

Are you a bartender I thought they made good money.

Back in the day when I worked at Red Lobster I started making real good money once I got the hang of things, but also, not to brag, it was due to being attractive I think because I would have tables of girls asking the hostess to the server with the nice eyes to wait their table.

Even though I would say other customers that weren't females would tip me well because I had I guess some type of gift of gab maybe, but whatever it was I couldn't save money for nothing working there because I was making cash.

I wish I was hustling around that time period because almost everyone in the server industry abuses some type of substance :smh:

Yambs were at an all time high for me though and not going to lie they all weren't the most attractive but they all served a purpose or a hookup of some sort.
