I get home late from work .. take a shower, dry off, hop in my bed butt naked I'm not wasting a pair of boxers just to sleep. My wife feeling all of this 
gets awkward when my kid wakes up before us and hops in the bed though

Basketball shorts no tee for me. Feels weird sleeping naked honestly especially when you wake up in the middle of the night and need to step out the room to do something, to much work to try to throw something on quick.

In middle school I used to sleep in a t-shirt and jean shorts. Not like cut offs or even oversized baggy ones... but like.. regular fitting jean shorts.
I have no idea why... I remember thinking "this is so uncomfortable" but I kept doing it. At some point I switched to gym shorts and a t-shirt and it was such a great feeling.
