QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

It's kinda crazy to me that Ben has been to 3 Super Bowls and won 2 and yet I feel like he hardly if ever gets praise.
He has also continuously improved as the offense has put more on his shoulders year after year. I swear people still remember XL and think that was an accurate representation of his ability

That and people don't like him personally so his accomplishments are downplayed. It's fine, Pitt fans know how much success he has brought to the team and how important he is
I think Big Ben is a very good quarterback. Top 10 for sure.

My problem with Big Ben is the fact that people are ready to anoint him as a Hall of Famer simply because of the rings.  I think Ben is good.  But at no point has he ever been a top 5 quarterback, only been to 2 Pro Bowls and never been an All Pro.  I think the HOF is reserved for the best of the best, and IMO, Ben has never been that....rings or not.

I's argue he's been top five a few of his years but within that it would be the fifth spot. As far as HOF, I agree it should be the real best of best, but you look at some of the names in there and could see a path for him to get in based off that. He would still have to put some more quality seasons together regardless

Ben was one of those guys who I was low on at the start of his career (went to a stacked team, played like anus in the SB, etc), but the more I watch him play, I've really come to appreciate him. His scrambling ability is very underrated and there's no one harder to bring down @ the position.

My thoughts, exactly.

I think the thing on Ben has been skewed a little.

IF, he would have won that 3rd ring vs GB, then I think he would have been in no matter what. Brady and Aikman were in the moment they won their 3rd, woulda been same here.

Does Ben get in NOW, without #3, if nothing changes? I don't know, will be tough.

But 3-4 years ago, as we approached the Super Bowl, at that point I remember a few of us saying if he pulls this off, he's in. There's no way you stop a QB with 3, especially when he's in his mid 20's (at that point) and still has a decade left to play.

Since he lost, the argument opens back up a bit now. He's probably 50/50 right now. If he beat GN, it would be 99/1 in.

LOL. If Ben is in HOF, then we might as well just throw in Eli while we're at it.

This board sometimes....

Ben been consistent all his career... Consistently really good
. Not great.

Warner had a few Better years bit overall I think Ben the better QB...
Warner don't belong in the hof....

i don't know about HOF for Ben. he's right on the edge for me, but i don't know. i don't think he's ever been top 3 QB in the league at any point in his career, which might be an unfair metric considering the sure fire HOF QBs that played during his time. he's solid and i like his game but i dunno about HOF.

I know you don't like him but you know this comparison isn't accurate

Coming from a guy who also thinks Hines Ward is a 1st ballot HOF player, I think I already know where you stand on this matter...

His personal life problems probably play quite a bit into why the media avoids talking about him.

Might keep him out of the HOF too.

And I hope it does

Anti Luck patrol is here, no logic needed for a while.......

Andrew Luck in his 2 years hasn't matched a guy that's been in the league for 6, call ESPN, we have a story........
