we went 3-1 against that division this year. we're 2-1 in our division with 3 games left


bills and miami held their own (i think ) versus that division too

NFC North ain't bad at all.

Packers 9-3
Lions 9-4
Vikings 6-7
Bears 5-8

it's not bad...but it's not some crazy division IMO

EDIT: and i mean more in the last 5-7 years. this year the lions and packers have been pretty strong

It's about top-to-bottom toughness that makes a division hard, because you have to play those teams.  The AFC East is actually not that bad this year—the Bills and Dolphins can beat you up.

AFCN is a competitive division, but I'm not sure they have a single SB contender.  It's the Alex Smith of divisions—totally average.

Baltimore is a SB contender IMO, even though they're currently not even a playoff team . Maybe its the PTSD talking

And I won't count Pitt out , either

And I feel you on top to bottom toughness, but it seems that year by year, each division has one decent team and the other 3 teams are hovering around .500 .

Well, Vic Ballard averaged 3.9, Rich is 3 yards and a cloud of tumble, so you have someone named Boom Herron at 5 on 50 carries, and Bradshaw at 4.5 in a year and half, and he played 3 games last year, and 10 this year. Boom has played mostly 3 games, and 88 of his 253 yards came in one game. Yesterday he averaged 3.3 a carry. Take out the 88 yard game vs the Skins, and he averages 3.9 for the season.

There is no run game worth worrying about in Indianapolis. The defense prefers you run the ball, rather than deal with Luck. You are refusing to get that for some reason. Just like you aren't getting he doesn't throw too many picks, at all.

Elite QBs make a world of difference.

You really trust the lions to walk into Seattle or Green Bay and win?

Green Bay is possible.

Seattle I'm not worried about because that game might be in Detroit.

Stafford hasn't played a bad game were he's had time this year.

I'm more concerned about that than anything but the line is healthy and finally starting to gel.

Its funny statistically this is going to be Stafford's worst in a season he didn't miss games but this is his best season by far.

Man until this year when have you ever really looked at the Lions and said to yourself I think they are as talented as the Packers?

Calvin is Calvin, Stafford has been hit or miss and Suh is great but until now we've never had depth. Hell outside of 10 games of Jahvid Best we really never had a real weapon next to Calvin until Reggie.

Calvin Johnson had never played with a 1000 yard rusher or receiver until last year.

Only game we should have won was the Matt Flynn game.

Thing is, those things need many grains of salt.

Where did they have Indy, at 6, for pass pro? Have you seen them lately?

Marino used to alter all our Oline sack stats because he got the ball out lightning fast. Luck is able to absorb, avoid, step up, etc pressure and get rid of the ball, good or bad all the time. That keeps their sack totals down, but that doesn't make their oline "good" in pass pro.

Same with running. Ourside of Herron's 1 game, and Bradshaw in the games he's played, 1 100 yard runner in 45 games. Every team, defense, coach, player, knows it's going to be Luck slinging it, and for the most part, they still can't stop him. Denver has Peyton, but they've also had big games from Ball, Hillman, Anderson, hell McGahee functioned for his final year better than anything Luck has had.


Indy will get beat in the playoffs at some point, by Denver or NE, it won't be because of Luck, it will because their roster is extremely thin outside of 5-6 pretty good players, and one freaking insanely good one. If they can start drafting like they did Peyton in the late 90's, early 00's, Luck will be a nightmare to deal with. But that GM gotta come thru.
