QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

With a healthy line and AP back, I wouldn't be surprised to see Teddy's efficiency skyrocket.

No lock AP comes back.

Dude was talking about retiring and trying out for the Olympics.

Dude definitely feels some type of way and I don't blame him. Dude got scapegoated. One thing to be punished for his indiscretions but he essentially had to pay for the NFL's lax treatment of abusers before the Ray Rice incident.

Goodell is so two faced b.

The Vikings had the 21st ranked offensive line and weren't the healthiest either.

The Jags actually had a better offensive line this season according to PFF.

The Raiders were ranked at 16th....

So really all three teams had relatively poor offensive lines.

Full disclosure I hate PFF rankings.

Definitely acknowledge the Raiders & Vikings line issues though.  Clearly Bortles was worse than Carr and Teddy.  The question is whether he'll ever be good...

He can be good, for sure. There's plenty of QBs in NFL history who had incredibly rough rookie years and bounced back going on to stellar careers.

It's just that todays standard is different. Young QBs have a much smaller window to prove themselves.

Heard all that stuff, but sometimes these athletes just talk. I'll wait to see what happens.

He was happy with the enouragement he received from the Vikings players and Zimmer during and after the ordeal and was still close with a lot of people within the organization even though he wasn't around them. The Vikings have also given no indication that they want to part ways. As of now, it's in AP's court, but as of today, I say he's back...Unless the Vikings get a Herschel Walker offer. Payback!

i think there's definitely some truth to it. he's like a supercomputer. trying to process it all and get everything down to a science. problem is, the game doesn't get played like a computer processes info. variables change. he's like the person that studies too hard for the exam and just out thinks themselves.

Manning IMO takes too much for he work load, what makes him great also hurts
Him.

It's an interesting perspective. Manning has always been praised for running the entire offense himself. Then you look at what McCarthy said in that "Toast of Titletown" article posted a few pages back.

It was that respect level that led McCarthy to implement more no-huddle packages in 2012, thus increasing Rodgers' play-calling responsibilities. He reduced them in 2013, concluding that he was putting too much on his quarterback.

"It's not that he couldn't (call his own plays)," McCarthy said. "When you talk football with him, he's 'coach-smart' now -- he knows the line call, the blocking schemes and what every receiver is doing. Really, what we learned through our process is, it's not that he can't. It's how much responsibility can one man carry on a team?

"Nobody plays faster in the league than this guy -- the way he sees the game, the way he gets the ball out of his hands. I realized I was stressing out, and potentially slowing down, the best player on my team."

To be a Pack fan with him at the helm in the playoffs.... B-hole puckered so tight....

Favre forever the GOAT.

Curious to see how GB gameplans against Seattle this time around. Surely, Rodgers won't completely avoid Sherman, will he? I think because of Rodgers' calf and with how damn fast Seattle's defense is, they need to dink and dunk and run for long methodical drives. Might be able to get one or two long completitions to Jordy, but they would need to be timely.

Interested to see how it plays out. I wonder if another week of rest will help the calf at all even.

Farve bombed it to the other team way too much o be considered the best. AR will pass him up soon enough.

Lacy feels like the #1 key for their offense

All of Seattle's losses they couldnt stop the run so all the underneath throws were becoming 1st down conversions.

I fully expect them to go at Sherman this time around even if they keep Cobb or Jordy away with the emergence of the rookie Adams

I didn't like the week 1 gameplan vs the Seahawks at all. AR's too good to let Sherm off the hook completely.

I don't see GB winning still though... Even with a healthy Rodgers its a tall order to get a W @SEA ...

Maybe Clay can finally be Capers answer to Russy... QB's that can get loose and rip off chunks have destroyed us.  Letting that bum Kaepernick go for 198 yds BEFORE CONTACT in a playoff game is a ******* disgrace.

GB winning even with Rodgers at full strength seems unlikely. Not impossible, but...unlikely.

However, I do like their chances of covering that 7 point spread. Thinking about opening up a bovada account just to make that bet :nerd:

I think AR is way too motivated from that week 1 embarrassment not to make big plays this week.

Will it be enough to win? It'll be tough but we'll see.

Will it be enough to cover the spread? I think so. That, I can be wrong about too but feel pretty confident about.

Cousin Sal said on The BS Report that Seattle hasn't faced a QB even close to Rodgers' level in three months.

Not interested enough to look into it.

We faced a Rodgers at Rodgers level this season.

They say this **** every time. No QB has lit seattle up except in garbage time

Eh. All last year leading up to the SB was about how Seattle never saw an offense like Denver's and I was adamant it was the other way around.

Green Bay hasn't seen a defense like this all year. Not even their week 1 matchup. Not even against Detroit (Good defense, but not all around great like Seattle) Seattle's D is clicking on all cylinders.

As Pabs mentioned, Lacy is probably the focal point. Running and quick hitters to perfection all day if GB is to pull this out. Seattle isn't the best at getting pressure, but they're a lot better than Dallas. A hobbled Rodgers can't afford to hold onto the ball against this defense.

Russell is playing great as well, so not even getting into how Green Bay will stop Seattles offense, it's hard to see GB pulling this out.

That's what makes you want to hate him?

I know you're probably joking (I hope)... But real talk if the "rumors" are true then I'd laugh like hell simply from all the homophobes getting tight that a gay dude was the best QB in football.

If you're gonna pretend, though, midas weld do it with a smoker like Munn.
