QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Very agitated this morning, bruh.

Got stressed when Jay said Russell's only threat was his legs.

Why would you be stressed by opinion?

It's not that serious. Obviously you guys see something in Mr Wilson that I don't see.

I see a kid that makes plays mostly with his legs. He also makes a play or two with his arm. Especially when he plays a weak secondary like last week.

I've seen a lot of Russell Wilson . I've actually made it a point to watch him because. Just don't see the hype. But if you guys do I don't stress about it.

Not to mention no running game

No Oline

No defense

Hell if someone could show me Dalton making just ONE luck type throw.

1 dude hanging off him while throwing a bullet.

That's what amazes me. Defense know coming into the game that all they have to do is stop Luck. There are literally no threats on that offense. And the kid is still playing in the AFC championship game this weekend.

If that's not impressive I don't know what is. What if the kid wins this weekend. :wow:

I didn't realize how impressive it is until Ben had to play Balt with no threat of a running game

Didn't go well

JJ defending Luck :smokin

My favorite Andy Dalton gif of all time

Andy Dalton could lead the Seahawks to the playoffs in a division with Kap, Shaun Hill and Arizona's 5th QB, sooooooooooooooooo

Not real sure what kind of worthless ******* point it is to say Dalton could lead the Colts thru the AFC South.

But hey.

We really need mister friendly to get the hell out of this thread. Dude came in out of nowhere to say that Russ doesn't really have to rely on any sort of running game, after he just spent a week telling me Dan Marino had plenty of help with the ******* UPS running back. Dude is trolling our once great thread. He needs to get lost.

And Hall Of Famers with plenty of Pro Bowl recievers/tight ends.

I get done with some work and damn... 0 to 100. I like it.

All the guys that have one and Dan doesn't. Nobody could throw the ball like him. How did he and Shula never get one together?!

85, 86, 87, 88, 89 First Round picks.

The most horrible 5 year stretch in NFL history. Completely wasted Marino's prime. Atrocious.

Jimmy in 3 drafts pulled Gardener, Zach Thomas, Jason Taylor, Derrick Rodgers, Sam Madison, and Patrick Surtain. On top of Abdul Jabar, and signing T Buckley, Brock Marion, and Trace Armstrong.

By then Dan was at the end and it was too late. :smh:

Shula shoulda been brought up on charges for those drafts.

John Offerdahl was a great pick for the Dolphins, the other draft picks from that time were not great

Look what I found from last summer. :nerd:

Jimmy drafted well but he coached like sh-t.

And that is hilarious.

Does it matter when every other team in your division is worse and you play a historically easy schedule?

You gonna make the playoffs.

Oh I know he ain't winning. I'm just saying that would be insane for him to beat Peyton and Brady on the way to SB. That would be the true passing of the AFC torch.

But your right, no way IND wins this game. Brady's on his way to is 4th.

That may help you make the playoffs. But he also succeeded on the playoffs. Playing in the AFC championship game. Not gonna give him credit for that either?

I don't put Hilton's inconsistent production all on him.

Luck spreads the ball a lot.

Wayne, Nicks, Moncrief, Allen, Fleener and now Herron all get targeted.

Hilton often draws opponents best CB and this season we saw Moncrief have some really good games at the expense of Hilton.

Luck just spreads it around is all. Hilton isn't as inconsistent as folks make him out to be.

I do give him credit for that.  Andrew Luck is excellent (especially this season).

I was just commenting that even an average QB makes the playoffs with the Colts in today's AFC South.  Ain't much to write home about.

Understood

You really think Dalton can lead a team the way Luck does?

The bengals win in-spite of Dalton.

The colts win because of Luck.

And regardless of SOS, the games still have to be won.
Didn't say that.  I said that a league average QB (Dalton) makes the playoffs with the Colts this season and last in that division.

Colts talent is average...  Not close to garbage like so many claim.

And I must have missed the part where Vontae Davis and that D was so awful last week that Luck just singlehandedly carried them to victory.

Texans had 9 wins? With Dalton it wouldn't shock me if the Colts went 8-8 or 9-7, so missing the playoffs wouldn't be unheard of. It'd probably be close

The colts have played these last 2 post season games.

Andy Dalton and Marvin Lewis led Bungals.

A corpse of Peyton Manning and a broncos team that look like it didn't want to be there.

It's not like the defense stopped these juggernauts.

You'll see the pats dismantle them.
So you think the Colts defense is garbage and has been playing like garbage?  Because every indicator pretty much indicates that they are average.  (Actually 7th in DVOA)

So, Andrew Luck goes out and supposedly does everything himself. He wins in spite of his team's performance.

Luck get a little help from Indy's defense these past two weeks and it performs well, but it doesn't matter because they played against average offenses. Luck still gets all the credit.

Tell me how that's a fair argument to use

Why dont you tell everyone how its a fair argument to use two weeks as a better measuring stick than the entire season that preceded them.

This team is one game away from a Super Bowl and people are still using the tired *** argument that Luck has no help and plays the other 21 positions on the football field. It's just getting redundant at this point.

This was the same defense that was considered one of the best in the league at the beginning of the season. Obviously they're not that now and haven't been that throughout the rest of the season, but they aren't God awful like they're being made out to be. They have talent. They've made the necessary plays. I used the last two weeks as an example because they're the most important right now. Nobody gives a **** that the Colts defense was garbage damn near all season except Team Luck because it's gotten them this far, right?

I'm not going to argue stats and rankings because I really don't care. But dudes need to stop acting like this isn't a team sport.

Kinda silly to not use the whole season as a measuring stick on how badly the Colts played. And if they werent in the AFC south they would not have made the playoffs.

The Colts ask Luck the Gawd to put the team on his back and he does it week in and out. Does he throw some dumb picks? Yea but hes trying to make plays because of the lack of talent around him and when you do not get time to throw like he hasnt been up until the playoffs, turnovers will occur.

Up until the playoffs his oline hasnt helped him, the running game hasnt been there, the pass rush wasnt there on the defensive side, the corners besides Vontae have played like ****.

What Luck is doing now reminds me of what Elway did with the Broncos before he got TD.

And I hope for his sake Grigs wakes up and starts getting some talent around this kid before he gets hurt or before you know it you are 12-15 years down the road trying to stack a team to win a chip for an aging vet.....a'la Peyton with the Broncos.

Lol.

Now luck has help?

Are we watching the same colts? They've been playing complete team ball in the playoffs, having found balance running and defending at a higher level.

But this team wins because of one man. That's pretty obvious.

The defense has been league average all year.  The talent is average all year.  Bad in some places (RB, OL), good on others (Pass catchers).  Nothing about the last two weeks.

Luck is obviously the best player on the team but the narrative that the team sucks is tired and just that, narrative.
