QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

that russell wilson vs luck debate died out pretty fast,
laugh.gif
11 td passes thats cute...
Was never really a debate in the first place.

He is, yes. Raider fan, but apparently not a Carr fan.
apparently, he's raider's finnns
Except AJ seems much more thoughtful and, basically, has a brain. Not so the other guy. Most clueless "fan" I've ever encountered. Every sport, braindead.

You're being awfully generous + AJ's ignorance knows no bounds either he first made a name for himself in the soccer thread.

I never talk about him in here because I use this for all other QB's, and frankly, there was no real reason to discuss him in here. But after yet another night watching my fanbase act like a bunch of ******* idiots, I thought I would post his work in here.

He's 26 years old. His 3rd season. Gotten better each year. 6-4 right now, would possibly be 8-2 if his coach would stop calling ******* timeouts for the opposing offense in the 4th quarter.

And half our fanbase wants him out, our national media guy says he would draft a QB in round 1 this year, and calls for Matt I've sucked my entire life Moore were pretty loud like 6 weeks ago.

26 years old. And we're ready to kick him to the curb and "start over". :rolleyes :smh:

It's been a while since I've seen a full Dolphins game. There were some mental mistakes that Tanny made but all in all I was pretty impressed from a strictly casual viewing stand point

i'd like to get finnns2003 finnns2003 opinion on the matter :nerd:

I'll refrain from reporting cp for a personal attack but check out his ypa stats. And he's something like 19-0 when his qbr is over 90. That means when it's under 90 we're automatically losing.

Did I miss that part? I thought everything was surprisingly positive. Finns excluded.
Which national media guy? I hella missed that, if it's Omar then that is why I missed it.
Mr. No QB Talk... Talks about QB non stop, every day.

I think he isn't getting any credit this year. This year, his deep ball has been his major flaw (which it always has). But his decision making has been a lot better, the ball has gotten out a lot quicker. He has also played four damn good (two are top 5) defenses and played well in three. Still has the Ravens, Broncos, Pats (second game) to continue to prove his worth. What I've seen so far I've liked a lot. Play calling and coaching have been the biggest problem to me. It took an entire half to get Tanny on a boot and roll, or to throw to the flats, against a Lions team that rushes up-field like crazy. More screens, more swings, more pop and draws. He just got no help that first half.

Should be a fun stretch, huge test next weekend. As I said in the Phins thread, no excuses. Should be 8-2, players and coaches know it. A top defense. Great offensive pieces... time to go for the kill in every match-up.

You and Finns... pure comedy.
DSA... mind your racist business bro.

What's this new book floating around that I hear about here and there? The QB?

Saw that too... literally have 6 books i'm reading plus batman. It's in my amazon que to get though along with the Howard Schnellenberger, The Winning Edge by Don Shula, and Dan Marino's my life in football.

 finns hates on everything... he's so pessimistic, no?  Failbin. Rolls off the tongue perfectly.
Miami Dolphins are in a pickle. If they make the playoffs, which I believe they will, becomes harder to justify to the public and fan base firing Philbin. Whereas if they miss a wildcard spot, a full-fledged courting of Harbaugh. Doubt Ross misses second time around.

Eagles: Aaron Rodgers laughed us out of Lambeau

As if dissecting their blitzes, carving up their coverages and slipping out of their sacks wasn’t enough.

Aaron Rodgers was also laughing at the Eagles' defense.

Two Eagles said Green Bay's Pro Bowl quarterback frequently laughed, smirked and snidely enjoyed his three-touchdown masterpiece during Sunday’s game at Lambeau Field, a 53-20 Packers blowout.

"Hell, yeah. That sh-- pissed me off," outside linebacker Brandon Graham said. “I wanted to get him. But at the end of the day, shoot, he was doing his job. More power to him. I guess we would be laughing if we were sacking him."

Rodgers passed for 321 yards and three touchdowns, completed 61 percent of his throws and compiled a passer rating of 120.1.

He took delight in tossing two first-half touchdowns, a six-yarder to rookie wideout Davante Adams and a 27-yarder to Jordy Nelson. On the third play of the game, he connected with Nelson on a 64-yarder past cornerback Bradley Fletcher.

Cameras even caught Rodgers shaking his head and wise cracking just before he called a timeout.

"Yeah, he did that a couple of times. And he was smirking,” cornerback Nolan Carroll said. “He's always been like that. You’ve seen it many times. He’s just one of those guys that jokes on the field. Whatever you present to him, whatever you show him, it doesn't surprise him much."

Carroll and Graham said some teammates were irked to see Rodgers having fun at their expense but both acknowledged that Rodgers, a Super Bowl champion and NFL MVP, has earned the right to act however he wants on the field.

“It’s just one of them things where you want to smack that smirk off his face,” Graham said. “But I mean they definitely came to play. I've got to take my hat off to him. That's the first time I have ever seen that.

"We started talking about it toward the end. We were like, 'He’s been laughing at us all day.' He’s a good quarterback, man. I would love to see him in the playoffs. You definitely have to get after him."

Carroll, who started his career with the Dolphins in 2010, said he remembered Rodgers laughing during a game that season at Lambeau. Miami won in overtime.

The Packers won seven of their next 10 games to earn a wild card and then won three consecutive road games, starting with a 21-16 win over the Eagles at the Linc, before edging the Steelers in the Super Bowl for Rodgers’ first and only title.

Carroll said Rodgers’ histrionics can be annoying “at first” but come with the territory of being one of the game’s all-time greats.

"But just what he does, he does it so well that it's just like, ‘Oh well.’ You can't complain about it,” he said. “It's just who the guy is. He's got that cocky confidence. He knows exactly where he wants the ball to go, he knows what you’re in and he’s just telling you good luck.

“I’ve never met a quarterback that is just so relaxed out there. Whatever the situation is, he is never getting down, never cussing at his teammates. Nothing ever fazes him. That's just a special quality in a quarterback."

I like that he is joking and has that demeanor on the field. That's how I play as well (not football). You know the game is in slow mo for AR12 when he has that much confidence

That's just how Rodgers is and I love it. Always remember him being loose and relaxed 24/7 at Cal. That man is from Chico, CA.

Reading over this thread.... lol at the dude who was arguin that Russell Wilson wasn't a game manager....Wilson>luck still?

And the other dude who likes Manziel.......

Arod sickest qb in the L.....

Nice video... That's from 2012 too I see.

Funny because his mental game is soooo far passed what it was in 2011.  His 2011 season was insane, but I think he's a good bit better now... Command of the offense is pretty insane right now.

Since the first Bears game Rodgers has been putting the ball on the money more consistently than i've ever seen out of him. Every game there's been one or two uncharacteristic drops from Cobb or Jordy that would have Rodgers pulled in the 3rd quarter if caught. But I guess a drop is more likely to happen when your stat sheet is already stuffed, specifically the targets column. The 70 yard TD to Jordy against the Bears 2 weeks ago showed me what level he's at mentally pre-snap. You could see that, Aaron could see what happened in the Bears defense, made the signal to Jordy urgently and had the ball snapped less than a second later. On Aaron's podcast he said he saw that the defense had a miscommunication and knew exactly what to do within seconds. The fake spike to Adams as well.

Right now, Rodgers QBR is at 120.1 - Which is currently 2.4 points lower than what he finished with in 2011. Looking at his schedule on the road it should be a cakewalk, with the tougher games in NE and Det being at home. He very well could break his own QBR season record. I believe it was looked at as one of the harder records to break when he beat Mannings in 2011. If he does it again and breaks his own from his 2011 MVP campaign, would this be a reason to solidify him as the MVP? Or will Watt's impact and numbers hold more weight.

I think Rodgers is certainly playing at a higher level right now than in 2011 as an individual. I believe the difference then from now as an offense in general, is this.

In hindsight, the deepest WR corp in the league by a wide margin.
