QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

I was thinking today how dope it would have been for the Broncos if they just drafted Teddy last year and let him set a year behind Peyton.

I bet he could walk in and have that offense humming.

To be fair tho...

Luck played against Dalton with no weapons in the first round, and an old man Peyton with a torn quad muscle throwing Ducks over his receivers head all game long in the 2nd round...

Rodgers caught a break on that last 3rd down of the game last week when it was tipped but Still fell into cobbs hands. It also can't be overlooked that Peppers singlehandedly stopped a DeMarco touchdown run by smacking the ball out of his hands... 10 point swing right there. I know Rodgers is Rodgers but if Peppers didn't smack that ball out of his hand it would of been a whole different game being down 7-21 instead of 10-14.

Just keepin it real, some luck there. As well as great play from one of his defensive players who gave him a chance.

my point is, lot of elite QBs and/or very good QBs are fortunate to have things go their way from time to time, via match-ups or tipped balls not being intercepted, or their defense making amazing game changing plays, etc.

Just playing devils advocate.
It's a QB driven league but QBs still need the rest of their team to make plays from time to time to have a chance in the playoffs.

Again, I have no emotion invested in either take.. Just playing devils advocate.

Everyone needs some help in football.

What was the score of the super bowl before Wilson threw a TD? Just wondering, can't remember.

And I don't think highly of Wilson. But he was balling last weekend won't take that from him.

Just sit down and rewatch the first half.

I don't know what's worse.

Seeing one side exaggerate how great Wilson is, or seeing the other side flat out act like he does nothing of substance on the football field.

Every time I come into S&T it's the same ol ****

It is but still slightly entertaining

What's legit crazy is Wilson is probably the 'worst' QB left. That's some talent left in these playoffs, truly a QB league

lol wasn't throwing salt homie. This convo just got me to thinking about it. Don't be sensitive. Put your Dilfer cape up.
Didn't even mean it like that.  You should rewatch the first half and it will help to provide you some clarity.

Be cause he's a real QB. And that's the type of QB you win championships with. And just because Russel Trent Dilferd himself to a Ring doesn't change that.

Vick
Cunningham
McNabb
Moon

These are the first to come to mind. But you get what I'm saying. These types don't win Super Bowls no matter how good they are.

1 of those QBs isn't like the rest....

This is really it right here.

No QB has ever won by himself. It's silly to act like we HAVE to hold it against them when they play with great defenses and skill players. Wouldn't you have to blame the GM and coach for dare wanting a complete team?

It's just a lame *** argument used to discredit players who still have to go out and make their own plays when they need to.

Only comparison I was really making was they were all black and for the most part athletic. Wasn't calling any of them wack though.

The fact that they all were pretty good and none of them has a SB.

1. Didn't ask you.

2. Wilson is not the same as those guys. He's a mobile QB like them, that's where the similarities end. Matter of fact it's extremely lazy on your end to even put him in the same category as those guys.

His pocket presence, his IQ, his field generalship, his ability to make just about any throw a QB needs to make, these qualities are more in line with traditional pocket QBs.

Again he plays behind a brutal pass blocking line, he can't sit back in the pocket because they won't let him and his receivers are just not talented to get open consistently. The Seahawks offense lives and dies on improvisation and Wilson finding his guys on post routes and most of those post routes are not built in, they're guys jumping around until Wilson is free to make throws.

Its downright sad how much he has to do but he makes it look so easy that people discount his ability because he doesn't put up inflated numbers in this QB **** sucking era.

But he isn't a real QB because he doesn't need a ******* Berlin wall to protect him and he doesn't need perennial all-pro receivers to catch for him. Got it, dude is too mobile for his own good I guess.

Ok Dude

Not worth the time.

And NVM that AROD makes more out of pocket TD throws than any other QB in the game but nobody discounts his ability as a pocket passer.

Some of ya'll man, hilarious ya'll even believe the **** ya'll spew.

You're right it's not worth your time, because if you're going to bring a rebuttal as weak as your first one then you might as well go finish your Wheaties.

Hey folks, save the half baked responses and informal fallacies. Put your big boy pants on and stand behind your opinions with a sound argument.
