QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Aikman would've been successful in any system, he was the number one pick, let's not act like his success was predicated off Emmitt or the line.

Both benefitted from each other

Anyone have the answer?

How many NFL QB's can have a rating of 0, with 4 INT's, and make it to an Overtime?

Make no mistake, he balled out in the OT. Nobody is taking that from him.

But to make it to OT, zero rating, 4 INT's. No TD's. Tie game thru 60. How many QB's have that luxury?

12 yards at half time.
61 yards after 3 quarters.
125 yards after 4 quarters.

Tie game.

Against the NFL MVP QB in the prime of his career on the other side.

Perhaps but impossible to know. His role was to be more of a game manager type and he did it to perfection. To a HOF career and three rings; while a guy like Marino (uh oh) had to try to throw his way to victory every game

As far as RW, he had a horrible game (sans a few moments late) but I'm not going to let one game change my view of him. It's one bad game, it happens. Ben had a horrific SB game, but he has shown since that he is a great QB. I expect Russ to do the same

Dolphins wanted to rely on Marinos arm for the most part, they weren't trying to play like the Cowboys til Jimmy got there

You may be surprised by this based on my posting history about Ben (and my disdain for the Seahawks), but I totally agree with this.  Russell, much like Ben early in his career, has been carried by his running game and team defense.

But much like Ben, I expect Russell to become a much better QB as his career progresses.  But, again like Ben, as the team around him starts to get worse, the Seahawks wont have as much success in spite of Russell eventually becoming a better player than he currently is.

Dan Marino quotes

"We're not running the ball again until we get ahead. Shula was calling the plays, but I told them, 'I don't care what he calls. We're throwing every pass from now until we get the lead.' To Shula's credit, he always gave me that option."
Dan Marino

"I know I've got to just keep throwing the ball. That's what I do best."
Dan Marino

Marino Ball

No sh-t... Side note, you are iYen to Forza Horizon 2 and 99games.com I swear. But I like him... You have to work for google at this point. It's amazing how fast you find these things.

Also, if you read what DMX said... you're basically agreeing with what he said about Dan except you are, once again, forcing Dan Marino into a conversation. You used a Shula quote after the fact... but the same remained when Jimmy was there... so throwing "until Jimmy got there" doesn't equate to your point. It hinders it... because the play stayed the same if not worse. Jimmy mucked things up and would run to Dan and say help... and he played the same as he did under Shula. But I'm sure you can find something in google to prove your point... I know.

Also, Troy's success with Dallas was 100% in connection with his Line and Emmit... Just like A Lot of Emmit's success came from that Line... let's not pretend that massive and talented Line giving Troy 10 minutes to throw doesn't matter. It does... If Troy is behind the Saints line at that time he has success? No... and No. I know Dan played with 15 Hall of Famers and all but had he half that line and one more second... Just saying.

The Dolphins and Marino wanted to rely on the passing game they weren't trying to run the ball. They built their team around Dan Marino, getting great pass protectors and passing targets

Those are Dan Marino quotes by the way

Troy Aikman had a great offensive line but he didn't has 10 minutes to throw( literally or figuratively) There strength was run blocking not pass blocking

You don't know what you're talking about dude. How many ******* times I gotta say it? You are so off base, it's not even funny anymore.

You can quote that post but I know what I saw in how the Dolphins played

And I'm not a homer unlike you

Homer, that is speaking AGAINST the team I root for?

Those are the picks, go ahead, show us who's who. Come on Google, work your magic. Show us the weapons and lineman Miami built around Dan after they drafted him. Let us see who Miami built around bright guy. That's EVERY pick, chop it up for us.
