QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Part of it could be Calvin starting to slow down tho, no? So they are trying to balance between that???

Calvin is still Calvin.

Every game that he played over 50% of the snaps last year he was still dominant.

Poor offensive line and all Scott Linehan would have a top 5 offense outta this group, hell I think I could.

Its wild about how there is a direct correalation between the LIons offensive output and how deep Stafford throws the ball.

They hired Caldwell to "fix" him. He's never going to be super accurate, ever. He wasn't in college and isn't now after 4 seasons.

He's is what he is and and their "fixing" has turned him into turnover prone Alex Smith.

Stafford aside how to do pay Calvin Johnson quarterback money and not allow him to do Megatron **** at least once or twice a game?
Yep. Need some more this.

"You know, I haven't heard that yet from that player. I didn't read anything about it," Tate said. "But that's not the first time this year that another player said that. I've had a couple occasions in literally each game where they've called out our play, for one, and then afterwards been like, 'Hey, we knew what you guys were doing.'

"I don't know how they know or what film they're watching that we're giving away. That's something, we need to go back and watch our tendencies to figure out what, where we line up or how we line up or what formation, whatever it may be, we got to figure it out because we're clearly giving [our plays] away.

"All three weeks, a player has come up to me and said 'we knew what you're going to do.' That's bad."

Seems relevant.

Alex Smith threw the ball 40 times and only threw one interception and that was only because he was forcing it in a blowout, so that interception shouldn't really count.

Plus he didn't get much support from his running game and defense.
Only to an Alex Smith led team is 17 points a blowout.

You must've not heard its ok to throw interceptions if your team is down by 2 touchdowns.

Word on the street is that its okay to poo poo interceptions and turnovers if you have a bad defense, bad running game and bad offensive line.

If you allowed every quarterback that grading curve a lot of them would be "elite"

Because a team is in a hole doesn't mean a QB should make bad decisions or poor throws.

And for the most part I've been agreeing with what you've been saying. But not this.

We were being sarcastic.

Certain people love to give multiple excuses for their guy but not other players in similar situations.

Look at this clown ****.

Who is berating Alex Smith in here for this loss, or for his one pick?

Nobody.

Not one soul. You in here tryin to talk slick like you have a point, you don't have a single thing right here. You gonna have to wait another week for another round of boxscores to make evals off of.

Alex Smith....40 passes..1 one interception....check

Team down by 2 touchdowns....check

Limited running game....check

Bad defense...check

Pressured....check

"Oh he threw 30 of his passes behind the LOS"...., look who hes one spot behind in air yards

Box scores? I watched most of both games live, not to mention the games were on National TV.

Try again.

I always though Charles was a good running back

And KCs defense was pretty good as well

I could be wrong

Me sayin he threw 30 behind LOS isn't an indictment on them winning or losing, its me joking about his demeanor.

You trying to point out Luck's yards with him is missing the point. That's yards, not attempts.

And for heaven's sakes, those stats still need context and verifying, peep Aaron Rodgers having a negative rating for his 333 yard, 5 TD, no INT performance.

If you really think that Smith and Luck have the same style of attempts, then there's nothing left to talk about with you. We all know you'll circle back to it over and over, but if you "watch" them play, which I don't believe you do, then you shouldn't need to try and zero in on these air yard stats.

Tannehill was 4th on that list. People swear up and down that all he does is check down. So again, those numbers get skewed, especially in a 3 game window.

Yes statistically they are completing same type of passes over a 3 game window.

Tannehill was pushing the ball down the field vs the Jaguars and the first quarter vs Bills until he imploded.

5 of those 6 Chiefs/Colts games were available on National TV in my area but yep I couldn't have possibly watched the games.

Im beginning to question if you actually understand the game you are watching.. talking about Andrew Lucks first interception vs the Titans was a great play by the defensive back...when Luck stared down the receiver and threw inside on a out route, was same type of dumb throw Colin made vs the Cardinals.

Or the one where's it's 2nd and 4 he running and floats it into a crowd of defenders talking he was trying to make a play. What?!? That's literally the same dumb type of throw Alex Smith made vs the Chiefs.

I said the second was bad.....

And the first was a great great play by the CB, not even close to the Colin picks.

Tanne imploded vs the Bills?  :nerd:

*BSB alert, BSB alert*

The 1st interception was bad..Andrew Luck stared Hilton down on the out route and misplaced the throw so bad the ball was literally in the cornerback's hands when he came out of his speed turn.

Yes Tannehill imploded and I'm not really talking about the 3 interceptions in the 2nd quarter because we can be generous and say 2 of those weren't his "fault". I'm talking about how inaccurate he was after that in that game. He was visibly shaken after that.

Out of reps but this is gold!!

I went to Texas A&M and hes our most acclaimed player since like Dat Nguyen

I don't believe I've ever said Manizel will be a star in the NFL.

I don't hate Andrew Luck! I just want his stans to admit that he could play better and he deserves a fair share of criticism especially if he's being crowned as an elite.

You really think I want to see a potentially great quarterback suck? I don't really have a favorite NFL team and I love watching good play, so why would I want him to suck?
