deadspin is always trying to go after luck for something, leave the young gawd alone ... the best season for qb ever was last year by peyton manning and it isnt even close, i dont think anyone has ever said he is having the best season or on pace to have the best season of any qb ever... but he is definitely having the best season for a 3rd year qb ever, and i would love for anyone to try and argue that... they also say that its easier to throw the ball now days with all the rule changes and such, but they dont mention that the defensive lines, defensive ends, linebackers are the most athletic players on the field now days and having to deal with them makes it harder to be a qb in my opinion, especially having the poise to stand in the pocket knowing you are gonna get lit up...

Jesus

It is in no way harder to be a QB today than it was in prior years

In my opinion of course

At least there's one quarterback everyone in this thread can agree on....

Go Andy

Raiders largely running the cautious offense trying to create easy yardage for Carr early on. Then the two INTs came.

Final drive. Carr underthrew a deep ball down the sideline that was fortunate not to be intercepted. Followed up with another...

Can see why people are optimistic about Carr, but he's still largely being protected by offense and not making difficult plays.

He's not executing the easy plays well enough for me to buy in right now.

What Carr has going for him is the quick release and his athletic ability. Has the skill set to develop, needs to show more though.

That defender running downhill should have been an easy tip off. Not good at all.

Edit: To be fair though, he's already in the throwing motion, which can help explain why the defender is committing to the flat already. I'd like to see a few more pictures just a few seconds before that one to better judge it.

It's more of an instincts/know-what-your-seeing-thing. He's watching his own players instead of reading the defense.

That looks like a simple double slant/flat combo. If the linebacker plays the slant, he needs hit the guy in the flat quickly. If the linebacker runs downhill to the flat, then the middle of the field should be wide open for at least one of the slants.

As a rookie, he can still have some settling down to do, but that stuff is 101. But again, I'd like to see other snapshots, if not the whole play in motion to get a better feel of what he's seeing.

I had to chose between Eli Manning @ Seattle or Derek Carr @ Denver in fantasy this week and I took Carr.

Hoping for them garbage time TDs.

In surprised you would even have Eli on your roster DSA m. Dude has killed your football dreams on multiple occasions

russell looked really good in read option. had a great feel for when to give, when to keep. same for those naked bootlegs. made a really nice throw off a scramble for 60 something yards

If you squint, Derek Carr plays like Andrew Luck.

*squints*

*squints more*

Ah, now I see it.
