QB THREAD - 2x quarterbacky award winner: Lamar Jackson

Game is completely different if Burnett doesnt slide.

Hard to keep running when your own teammate 5 yards in front of you is waving you to get down.

I don't really put too much blame on him.

When you lose a 16 point lead in the 4th quarter, its multiple things that make you lose...thats why I don't understand the Packers narrative that they were the better team

Mike McCarthy is the sole reason GB lost yesterday. I don't blame AR at all.
Nah he gets some blame too... Hard to say how much the calf affected his game but he absolutely missed some throws that he normally doesn't.

2011 Packers were the best frontrunning team aside from the 07 Pats that I'd ever seen.  There needed to be some of that injected into the game yesterday but there wasn't.  Mac shelled up in the playcalling and Aaron couldn't lead Cobb on 3rd down late, Quarless had a big drop too.

Then when usually you see Capers go 3 man rush, he goes cover 0 instead and the top gets blown off twice.

I think it was Vilma this morning that said Rodgers may not have even known Sherm had an issue. And if he did, he may not have had time to look for something to attack it with.

I dunno. A receiver, or a coach, someone had to see it, right?

Rodgers said in his press conference that he knew Sherman was injured.

Wow, did not hear that.

Then I have no idea what they were thinking. That's crazy.

Disagree.  There are many reasons that the Pack lost yesterday.....a huge one being Burnett sliding down after Wilson's 4th pick.  At worst, he gets the ball close to field goal position.  At best, he returns it for a touchdown.

Game is completely different if Burnett doesnt slide.

Really? Burnett sliding affected the game? GB got exactly what they wanted, a turnover.

I don't really blame the coverage on that last play.

1st & 10, you're expecting Lynch and then Russell just throws a perfect pass.

He had miles of space to run... Decent chance at pick 6 and  at the very least it puts them on the 40-30 yardline.

True, Hayward giving Baldwin an outside release at the hashmark and getting dusted on 3rd and 19 is terrible though.

I dont know how you can say him sliding DIDNT affect the game.  At the very least, he gets the Packers to the edge of field goal range.  At most, he runs it into the endzone.  Either of which would have completely changed the last 5 minutes of the game.

I did nothing, I just said game manager isn't a negative and pointed out who has been and hasn't been one

I gotta get work done, this forum is going to get me fired

How is Wilson simply a game manager again?

-Most passing TDs by a rookie (tied with Peyton with 26).
-Most passing yards in a playoff game by a rookie (385 yards)
-First QB in NFL HISTORY to throw for 300+ yards and rush for 100+ yards in a single game.
-One of only three QBs in NFL history to throw for 50 touchdowns in their first two seasons.

Ya'll keep calling him a game manager but there is an overwhelming amount of evidence that says otherwise. Yes he manages games very well, he's efficient, a great decision maker, and rarely makes costly turnovers, but that's not all he does.

The guy can make just about any throw, I challenge ANYONE on this board to prove to me otherwise.

And the funny part is, everyone wants to slight him because of Seattle's defense BUT NOBODY wants to touch the fact that aside from Marshawn Lynch he has no reliable offensive weapons at his disposal.

 That's why I can't take most of his detractors in this thread seriously, you guys are just blatantly biased. Most folks who are a fan of the guy actually are willing to concede that yes, the Seattle defense really minimizes the impact of his mistakes. That yes there are games where the defense is so dominant anything Wilson (or even Lynch for that matter) does is really just extra.

But nobody who hates on him ever shows up after he drops a multi-TD 300+ yard game against a good defense (like the Cardinals) and gives him his due. NEVER, straight crickets. Why is that? Hm, I wonder....

But as soon as he has a poor game, the haters show up for a circle jerk.

How about GB running into the line 3 straight times then putting the defense back on the field who then proceeded to give up a TD?

Man, I said it the MOMENT it happened. I even rewound it. All they had back was 5 Olineman, and Russ. Burnett had Ha Ha on his hip, and Peppers out in front, then whatever other Lineman/Backers were there to help block those Olineman.

Burnett takes that to the + 40 side, or the 30, field goal range, maybe inside the 10, scores, etc. He completely changes that whole run into the line 3 times and punt.

Hell, if he gains 15-20 yards, maybe that same punt pins them inside the 5, etc. Time off the clock, longer field, even the play itself would have been an extra 5-10 seconds.

It was the first play in an overly cautious approach to closing that game. He played it safe, instead of making a football play which is to advance the ball your way when you have it.

Why did you stop at two seasons?

Oh, is it because in their first three seasons, Andy Dalton has more touchdown passes than Russ?

Guess it didn't fit the agenda. Whoops.

Carry on with the rookie stuff tho. :D

I remember another Seattle fan had that 50 TD in 2 years thing HOLLERIN last year.

Then this year happened, and Luck threw 40 in one year, and I never saw that stat no mo.

Whoops.

Russ got 72 after 3 years tho.

Luck got 86.

Dalton had 80

I mean, there are lots of things you can use to prop Russ up -- some videos, gifs, game-winning drives...

But you choose most passing yards in a playoff game by a rookie. :smh:

Through four games of his rookie year, RGIII had a 69.35% completion percentage. An NFL record.
Derek Carr holds the NFL record for most passes by a rookie through five weeks (8 of them).

I can pull all kinds of random records and **** too.

for the record, not even a Seattle fan.

and after RG3's rookie year would you have called him simply a game manager? (yes we all know that RG3 ended up going downhill since).

is Carr shaping up to be a game manager?

No. The point is why does Wilson get stuck with that stigma but does things traditional game managers just don't do?

Chester, if Wilson was a 49er you know damn well your opinion of him would be different.

Stop it.

You got me there -- I spend all of my time on NT propping up 49ers and their players. Lord knows all the times I said Kaep is better than Brady. :smokin

I mean, I say Seattle's defense is the best I've probably ever seen... but that's the 49er bias.
I say Marshawn Lynch is the best RB in the NFL... but that's the 49er bias.

:rolleyes :rolleyes :rolleyes

If I were to hate any player for not being on the 49ers, there are plenty I'd choose before Russell Wilson.

Its like us Niner fans cant have an opinion on a player on a rival team without the standard "biased", "you mad", "salty", or "hater" being in the response.
