If you live in So Cal or have been to San Diego before, any suggestions on the following?
Attractions
Destinations
Food/restaurants
Cool things to do, etc.

I've lived in San Diego my whole life and this is a great list. Not just tourist trap stuff, real awesome stuff that I still enjoy doing. Feel free to PM me if you have questions about anything on the list and I'll try to help out.

San Diego is pretty big/spread out - do you know what area you'll be visiting? If your vacationing for the beach and stuff I'd recommend La Jolla (best beaches but pricey), Pacific beach (where all the action is- bars, clubs, tons of good food), and mission beach. Of course downtown has tons to offer as well and is awesome, I just know the beach area better.

The list mentions it but it's worth noting the Del Mar horse races just started. It's a really good time.

Good choice on SD my man, best city around :smokin

Depends on what you want to do, where you're staying, what you want to eat, etc. Like others have said, feel free to PM for specifics. Lots to do, and San Diego is pretty big

For Nightlife:

Pacific Beach or Gas Lamp depending on what type of night out you prefer

Food: gas lamp area ; yelp taco shops, Phils BBQ, point loma seafood, Hodad's, OB noodle house just to name a few

Attractions: Coronado, Beaches ( OB, Mission Beach, Pacific Beach, La Jolla) , sea world, san diego zoo, balboa park

Thats good list right there. I dont live in SD but im only three hours away in az so ive visited dozens of times. First I used to do all the touristy stuff like the beach and landmarks, now im trying to find all the local gems from asking the people that live there

I went to the stone brewery in Escondido like 2 years ago which was pretty cool

It's SD Restaurant Week Jan 15-22 just so ya know.

Island Prime was ok when I had it for restaurant week. Nice views, so book a reservation at 5:30 to catch the sunset. Haven't been to Greystones.

what is the protocol for getting into Tijuana? Going to be here next month, just don't want it to be much of a hassell

As with ANY travel thread, you could google any and everything.

Maybe someone here can share personal experiences with issues crossing the border that I should be aware about.

I am sure you understand that though.
