Cruz simply isn't a #1 WR. Neither was Nicks. The Nicks/Cruz tandem (& insert filler 3rd receiver or TE) was successful because while neither was truly a #1 guy, they're skill sets complimented each other so well. And our TE & RB slots have been revolving doors for far too long.

The team has been getting worse every year. I do, however, think the defense is on the up and up.

In his prime he def was, injuries are catching up to him at this point.

Cruz is the focal point on offense for opposing defenses, his strength is in the slot even though he can break through for a big play. While I do not view him as a true # 1 right now, I'm sure with some better talent around him he can produce #1 WR numbers.
 
Man, I was wrong about a lot relating to the G-Men. Really thought your defense would pressure Stafford into mistakes and bad decisions. Losing to Arizona and Stanton surprised me even more.

Dead wrong about Cruz bouncing back so far. Same goes for Randle breaking out and Jernigan contributing consistently. Chalk up a L for me.
 
Jernigan is out for the year.

Nicks is a #1

Randle is inconsisten.

Too quick to judge after only 2 games, but need to play near perfect football (no turnovers) in order to win and that has obviously not happened yet.


And there will never be a day I look at power rankings.

I'm approaching this gm like I did last week vs az...I'm giving our guys a punchers chance. No travel. More time to iron out kinks to McAdoos sys. No beason, although the skills are eroding, hurts the defense. I don't trust herz/jaquan/paysinger/mcclain etc. No more thurmond=buzzkill, but hous doesn't really have a game changing slot wr.

As for the matchup. I expect the usual from hous. Pound foster/let fitzpatrick manage....If they control the chains, forget it....let's see..nyg faced suh/fairly etc and azs stout defense..so Houston defense won't be a major shock (the 3rd straight solid defense).

On offense..we have to establish the pass to set up the run...been saying it. Let's get Washington some Damb reps..line him up outside and try vic in the slot...Why not(with randle opposite)..

No mistakes...can't afford em...
Prediction-27-24 hous....but as I said...I give us a punchers chance.

Team can win today. Don't have confidence though. Fitzpatrick is as bad as Stanton and we saw how that turned out.
