I'm eh on it but the man contributed to two super bowl runs and is the face of the franchise. So I understand it. Just nervous with older players and sizable contract numbers.
 
Beason and Cruz aren't playing Sunday, game over.


In football years, Eli is young as ****. Guy is always healthy, never had any serious injuries. Age isn't an issue at all. If the Giants didn't sign him, plenty of teams would have given him 5/100+. All QBs get 100+ now, that's just it. Keep, Russ, Dalton, Cutler, Tanne and so on. They're all getting paid and I'll take Eli over that list.
 
You guys have to understand that what Eli was paid is pretty much the going rate for franchise QBs. Rivers & Big Ben from the same draft class got paid around the same if I remember correctly. 

Ask fans of teams like the Browns, Bills, Jets etc how hard it is to get a solid guy under center. 
 
Very happy to see Eli Manning get locked up. 2 time super bowl champion. People knock his stats but before you do please look at other QBs stats in reg season compared to playoffs. 2 years Eli went into the playoffs and played better than he did in the regular season. If peyton manning just played almost as good as his reg seasons he would have more rings. Eli Manning stepped up his game in the playoffs twice having 1 or 2 TOs. AMAZING!!

also please note giants once missed playoffs winning 10 games and only 2 times in eli's career he had a losing season. what about pro powl talent? only pro bowl talent on offense to make pro bowl back to back years was shockey. Brady/Manning i would say they have played with 8-1 pro bowlers. but i guess that doesnt help. well we will see how eli does with OBJ

wish the giants signed aldon smith we need a pass rusher but i guess reese is happy with the 3 LBs he signed which all 3 combined won't be as good as smith.

sunday night is huge if we can win that game that can spring board us to a great season. hope the D shows up

Aldon Smith has a ton of off the field issues. Giants don't go for that or else Will Hill would probably still be on the roster.
 
giants messed up on not having will hill on this team. his off the field problems was pot, i mean seriously? keeping him wouldnt cost serious money why not keep him around. yes i know his friends being so close to him might have messed him up but really they should have never gotten rid of him. Yes if it got to the point where we had to give him a real deal then i can understand not wanting to take that chance. if the giants say they wouldnt trade a 7th round pick for will hill today they are lying....

yes aldon smith does have problems but its not like we have to sign him to a 5 year deal. sign the guy if he messes up cut him and say we wanted to give him another chance. we lost JPP and beatty and who did the giants replace them with? 9 mil in capspace and half of that could have been used on guys like smith, long, mathis.

oh yea why isnt antrel rolle on this team? yes the giants couldnt spare the 3-4 mil a year for a safety that is better than every safety on our roster. all good lets see how that works out

I have no problem with the Eli deal, it's pretty much a "thank you" contract. Dont really see it affecting the cap.


I respect TC and all, but I hope this is the last year for TC and Reese. Drafts and FAs have been horrific. How some players remain on this team is beyond me.
 
How is it an awful deal when you're locking up your franchise qb? You know how difficult it would be to find a replacement? Some franchises never find one for decades and he is coming off one of his better seasons with an awful team around him.

I like Rolle but he isn't getting any younger, plus Collins has the potential to be a stud, let him get his reps.

Defense has a lot of young blood, Spags simplifies a lot of things so it's just a matter or getting some chemistry out there, lots of opportunities for those who want to stick around.

Offense will have to play smart and carry the load in many games this year imo, just have to take it week by week and go from there.

Ask the Jets how much they'd offer Eli for his services. That franchise has been a defensive powerhouse in recent years, but their lack of qb talent (among other things) has held them back.
 
I thought James Jones was going to be a good 3rd or 4th option here, did he ask to be cut? Because I was surprised when it happened

Meanwhile Randle will get snaps.
 
They'll have to score 30+ to have a chance imo, half the defense is gone and Cowboys are healthy and at home.

No Cruz either, he needs to get on the field already.

I didn't get it either and no he didn't ask to be cut. No way in hell he isn't better than Preston Parker. Can't stand that guy. They said the rookie we got outplayed him. Geremy Davis. I'll take James Jones over Randle. This team has really pissed me off in the last two years with these type of decisions.

I'm excited to see Landon Collins develop on defense though. Gonna be a struggle early though.
 
Hakeem Nicks and James Jones should be on this roster. Preston Parker and Rueben Randle are ****** garbage.

Giants finally get pressure for the first time and force Romo to make an awful throw.

I'll gladly take a ten point lead at the half on the road. Giants have been moving the ball too, but they've barely had the ball at all.
