Official 2015 New York Giants Thread VOL: Odell Beckham > *

Season is over

It really isn't though.

Romo's injury kicks open the door wide open for us.

The Cowboys are done, finished, out of there. This is a lost season for them all things considered.

Thursday is obviously a must-win for us, we need to get our **** together before the Eagles get their **** together. Because if things start going right for them, it's bad, bad news for the rest of the division.

The ******** are going to try to run it down our throats all night (pause). Matt Jones and Alfred Morris are going to be used early and often to control time of possession.

Eli & Co need to jump out ahead early and we need to get our ******* run game going. Clock management needs to be better.

DRC and Ereck Flowers getting hurt ******* sucks. Flowers ankle was already hurt going into the game and he aggravated it. ****.

But all is not lost. Our season starts Thursday. Lets ******* GO.

On a side note, I want Bradshaw back. **** Rashad Jennings. Bradshaw is reportedly healthy, I think he could def help out our backfield. Bradshaw/Vereen with Dre as our goal-line back.

Spags has been blitzing a lot since he can trust Price and DRC in one on one coverages, but with DRC always getting hurt it may be more difficult to even do so, will have to find ways to get creative.

The pass rush was there yesterday, not fair to the defense when the second week in a row they should not have been out there on the field.

It really does not matter how bad the rest of the division is, because imo it's very mediocre even when everyone is healthy, the Giants had 10 point leads in both games in the fourth quarter and gave both games away,

They've shown no run game to start the year, they need Beason and Cruz back badly.

Season is over if they lose on Thursday.

Meanwhile James Jones out in Green Bay feasting. Yea, 2 entirely different class QBs, but we got dudes that look allergic to catching footballs-_-. It's really easy to play defense when you only have 1 receiver to worry about.

Maybe I'm just used to a pathetic run game, but I actually like the Jennings/Vereen combo. They too, like the rest of the offense, need to get in sync. Not so much Andre Williams, I haven't seen much out of him.

And with all that said, if these guys had their heads out of their *****, we'd be sitting pretty at 2-0.

At this point we just have to move on, especially if Jones had requested to be cut. I'm sure he saw some things he didn't like.

Jennings and Vereen are excellent in the passing game and screens, they are reliable with catching the football, the O-line is just not consistent with the run blocking. The blocking looked great in the 2nd half in spurts, but just not on a consistent level.

Eli has to step up in the pocket too frequently, he had a good game overall minus the fumble but that was a blindsided hit and he seemed to have a false sense of security on the pass protection. The last pass to Parker was over the corner and right in front of him, he did not come back to the ball at all and even then the ball hit both of his hands, there is nothing else Eli can do there.

NFL is mainly mental, if you don't have that part of the game straightened out you'll have a rough season.

Vereen is great catching out the backfield but we don't really have anyone that eats up yards for positive gains. I swear I've never seen Andre Williams make a big run. Jennings has but he tends to not get touches or fumble.

ODB stepped up big but saw no real action in the second half.

Gotta hope that someone else makes an appearance on offense and we don't collapse late in the 4th with terrible clock management to really stand a chance.

James Jones came into camp late. Felt like he was behind on things and felt like the Giants knew their top 4 WRs already. Asked to be released. Disgusting, how in the hell did they let him walk? Should have told him he would play and would get more snaps than Parker and Randle :smh:

Season ain't over.
Eli will step it up.
Cruz is coming back.
JPP eventually.
A lot of usually good teams are 0-2 right now.
DAL is missing their 2 best players till the end of the year.
WAS ain't about to do nothin.
PHI isn't playing well and Sam Bradford is a bum.
I'm going to remain optimistic at least till Thursday night...

Asking Cruz to be a top flight receiver after not playing for a year may be asking for too much, just need him to be reliable esp on third downs. Having Cruz and Vereen in those situations would only be beneficial. The team also lacks depth in a lot of areas, if one guy goes out it's hard to recover. Lot of faults in the roster.

As bad as the division is, it really does not matter if the Giants can't get out of their own way. Season is over if they do not win tomorrow, don't care what anyone else in the division does or how bad/injured they are.

Division is being handed to them on a platter, a more experienced team esp on offense would have capitalized on their opportunities.

The disconnect between Coughlin and McAdoo is also reason for concern, coach has his hands tied.

Heard Beason is good to go, let's see how long he can actually stay on the field this time around. :smh:

If this doesn't scream frustrated, I don't know what does.

Q: The players are probably hearing all the negative feedback after two close losses. How important is it for you to stay positive and upbeat?

Coughlin: “Well, it is. And I’m fighting the same battle, I really am. I don’t read anything and I don’t like that. I don’t like being someone who really doesn’t know what’s happening in the world, but I’ve decided that I don’t want to be affected by what’s being said on the outside. So I really don’t care for that. But I continue. I suppose I tell our players the facts and then I encourage them, and I always look at the things - for example last weekend - when have you seen special teams numbers like that before? Not while I’ve been here. I can’t remember. I’m excited about that part of it. And the fact that there were some good things, 17 unanswered points and so on and so forth. In the long run, 75 percent of the games in the National Football League are seven points or less in the fourth quarter. The games are won in the fourth quarter, or lost. In our case, we haven’t put together a formula to win. We’ve been there, last week, fourth-and-two, we got a penalty (for illegal motion). When is that penalty ever called? But nevertheless, it’s called, so we kick a field goal. There’s the four points at the end of the game. And then on the other end, we’re going to go up 27-10. We've got a guy wide open, there isn’t anybody even close to him. Never sees him, then gets hit from behind and the ball comes out, they get it, and we don’t even get a field goal there. If you get that field goal, you come down and you've got your one-point difference, you’re already on the 50 (yard line on the Giants’ final possession). For all practical purposes, you have to get to the 32 and you have a shot instead of a touchdown. But it didn’t happen, so we’re back scratching our heads.

Leaving work early just in case this pope visit jams up my drive home today. Can't miss the start of the 6 game win streak.

Nice W, would be sitting so pretty at 2-1, but I'm still comfortable at 1-2 with the way the division is looking.

The division is there on a platter, just a matter if this team wants it. But the fact they should be 3-0, not sure.

Nice win though, Eli played great, and so did Prince/Hosley.

- Pugh looked excellent at LT, maybe Flowers can play LG when he returns, and have Beaty at RT when he returns. All of a sudden we have some nice depth in that position, run blocking needs to improve though

- Giants run defense is off to a great start

My biggest complaints:

- Donnell drop nearing the red zone....must be the fourth drop that just killed drives and prevented 7 points.

- Special teams in the fourth quarter (which was honestly a blur to me since the game was already out of reach)

- This team will not get a pass rush all year long, there will be a lot of frustrating games.

- twice in the fourth quarter they passed the ball on third down when they should have been killing clock, has McAdoo not learned anything? Coughlin must have been going mad.

I think the decision to pass on those 3rd downs was the right move. They fudged up having Johnson run those first and second downs. I guess they don't trust Jennings to hold onto the ball, but he's much better at getting those yards in early downs. If anything, Johnson should be relegated to short yards and goal line drives.

Imo of course, but I could be completely wrong.

I'll give you the first one, but the 2nd time around it would have killed 40 seconds and forced Washington to use their last timeout. I can't understand the line of thinking there, especially with what happened in Dallas.
