iLoveMakonnen ? vol. all in young thug's lane (prod. by metro boomin)

Because he did hair he's gay? Some of ya'll cats don't be in the hood, haven't been in a barbershop, or just trollin'...

There's an OG country cat at my barbershop that cuts guys hair but also does women's hair on the norm and be stickin' a couple of them, so that and the fact he's not out here trying to sound extra tough on the mic doesn't automatically make homie fufu.

Bruh watch the vid. Watch dude mannerisms.

Bruh embraces his zest. Maybe not out in the open yet but dude hella comfortable with who he is I'm sure all his people know. More power to him.

I'm not a street cat or anything but in the hood I've seen plenty of dudes doing that as a side hustle, contrary to the majority of white America where if you're a male doing women's hair you're gay 95% of the time... It's really not that deep of a point to wrap your head around.

Now IceCity referencing his mannerisms and all that is understandable an a way more valid point then dudes clinging to the "doing hair" = reference.

"The Machine" is definitely behind this cupcake.
I don't believe ANYTHING can pop off organically anymore.

When someone goes from obscurity to blowing up seemingly overnight...there has to be a machine behind it.
lol nah man. I agree there are a lot of "fake independent" rappers, but he been poppin on the internet for a few months now. I remember Chase N. Cashe (Drake associate + producer) tweeting I Don't Sell Molly No More and thinking it would be crazy if he got a Drake verse. This was a few weeks before Tuesday RMX. Someone in Drake's circle who had their ear to the internet probably was bumping it and Drake saw an opportunity to attach his name to a new star.

Sidenote: Speaker Knockerz popped off organically I remember being in them parties with a few hundred people when he first started doing his thing.

Are you on SoundCloud? If so...you'd see that there are ALOT of ****** popping on the internet. Many w/ a bigger following then Makonnen had...so why him? Also...ask yourself how did he even get into the company of Mike Will, Metro Boomin, etc. Those guys got hundreds of people trying to send them music on a daily basis. Why him?

Drake is like Jay. Once you get to that level...your co-sign can single handedly jump start someone into stardom. These people just aren't lucking into that. Just like when Young Thug popped and there just happened to be people getting footage of all these superstars requesting Danny Glover in the club back to back to back.

That **** doesn't happen at random. At that level of industry...every move is calculated.

Put the blunt down, you're over-thinking the hell out of this.

Going off your theory, Drake & "the industry" were trying to revive Soulja Boy's mainstream career because he hopped on We Made It.

Right...I'm over thinking it but you can go find plenty of reputable journalists saying the exact same thing.

I've worked in this industry. I think I'm comfortable with my thesis.

I don't know or care about the other journalist you're referencing but you aren't saying sh**, you're posing questions on some thought provoking "Ask yourself why" tip.

I agree... It should be the first question these interviewers ask, just to set the record straight and move on.

honestly he reminds me of the dream *shrugs*. I appreciate the people who liked his music b4 the drake cosign. HAve the numbers really spiked that much? my favorite song ive personally heard from him would have to be the rumors song posted earlier.

http://pigeonsandplanes.com/2014/07/ilovemakonnen-interview/

curtis williams showed his music to mike will and when mike will kinda shelved him he linked with metro, dun deal, fki, and sonny etc....now as for why they were just giving him free slappers idk thats a good question, maybe they saw potential but who knows

As far as him being discovered out of all the soundcloud artists, these famous dudes dont have time to just chill and dig on Soundcloud, it really can just be as simple as someone in their circle bumping their music around him

I think Atlanta is just the music capital right now and people always trying to get a cut out of the next wave

Keep in mind that the Drake co-sign came immediately after the Miley Cyrus co-sign...which came after him hanging out w/ Bieber in the club.

Again...these are ELITE artists. They not gonna give a "nobody" shine just because they liked a song. I gotta find this old interview where Makonnen literally mentions how long he's been trying to get his music to Drake.

If it's that to just hop in that circle off the strength of your own music...wouldn't everyone be able to do it?

Drake can't do nothin for Makonnen man.

I mean hopping on Tuesday did get the joint on the radio but I've never even heard it played past Drake's verse.

That's gonna be about the extent of Drake's push, I'm sorry but dude is going nowhere.  I'll admit it if I'm wrong a year from now.

I don't know anything about Riff Raff, has he really made it?

I do know the rules are different for white rappers. Riff Raff and Makonnen aren't really comparable.

Riff Raff made it but not with the urban music audience. Dude's signed with Diplo playing EDM shows and ****
