To provide context to that: He did an interview with Pigeons and Planes and a few years ago, he was on house arrest for like two years because he (was accused of) accidentally killed his friend.
I'm guessing the cosmetology thing came from him being home and out of school and his mom was doing it and that's all that was all that was really there for him to pick up and learn to try and make a living.
Like you said, I don't know too many ****** doing hair
, but dude had some odd circumstances.

As far as the dress/head thing, stop trying to twist what I said.

If anything, the Drake co-sign hurt him longterm because Drake didn't give the song enough time to be a hit organically like he did for Tony Montana, Versace, etc. etc.
Now for most people out of the loop, Makonnen just looks like someone that was affiliated with Drake from the beginning that he's tryna force on us, instead of someone that originated in Atlanta and had a nice little buzz.
That + Tuesday was the wrong record to be "first" for the urban demographic of hip hop/rap. Maneuvering or I Don't Sell Molly would have been a better choice as an introduction to the urban audience.
He got to drop a solo HIT within the next month to keep his buzz going. Y'all saw Rae Shrimpandgrits came with TWO hits back to back with no major guest verses.
