2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

They definitely had chances to win or at least tie it up. Lack of running game sealed it, can't have Fitzpatrick out there throwing that much. :smh:

If sproles wouldn't have taken it back we would have been down 3 even with that Marshall lateral :smh:

Hey man you were out in riverhead huh yeah this game was atrocious we just looked flat all game. I pray to God the nY media doesn't want to go bald to geno

Yeah, first time. It's a beautiful place but too quiet. :x

Stick with Fitz.. We will be fine. We played without RB1 and TE.

That lateral

It's like, did he think the lateral if successful would have even gone for anymore yardage?

I didn't even notice who was behind him, what player was it?

The game would of been out of reach if Sproles caught those passes about three times with both Demario Davis and David Harris being the cover men on him. Wide open every time. They couldn't tackle. They did not know the plays on offense. I think this game could of been 10 times worse for the Jets if the Eagles weren't so bad either.

Jets overall performance was just awful though. and Chan Gailey called an awful game.......even without Decker/Ivory. But, at least the stands were great. Game three after starting 2-0 and mostly, every Jets fan took it in stride........... "Anvil was about to drop" "we aren't coming back" etc etc....... Had a blast with my section with the Canadian couple behind us trying to explain Celsius to Fahrenheit and how the lady dated a Canadian Pro Football player (Punter) and her current guy raving about how much of a nice guy he was........

Reasons why I love Jets games at Metlife and the section I am in...........

:smh: I'm guessing this is the week when suh decides to show up.

Winters :smh:

We had chances but our offense just stinked

This. Has nothing to do with anyone not watching the game

. Decker being out hurt us because Brandon Marshall was in double coverage most of the day. I really wish Fitz would stop gambling throwing right into coverage also, he's not at that level to get away with that. I hope we can smack up the Dolphins this Sunday.

I just made sense of that tweet with Cromartie. Stupid all around

. You don't respond in that manner if you're Cro.

Jets expect Sheldon Richardson to return next week ... as of now

FLORHAM PARK, N.J. -- Sheldon Richardson's four-game suspension ends Monday -- unless he's zapped by the NFL for additional discipline because of his July arrest.

New York Jets coach Todd Bowles said he hasn't received any updates from the league office, so he's operating under the premise that Richardson will be eligible to return as soon as they return home from playing the Miami Dolphins in London. But Bowles carefully couched his remarks, knowing the situation could change at any moment.

On whether he expects Richardson to return next week: "As of right now, yes."

On whether he has received any word from the league on the possibility of additional discipline: "Not yet."

Richardson was suspended for violating the substance-abuse policy. Two weeks later, he was arrested near his home in St. Louis on a charge of resisting arrest, a misdemeanor. He allegedly refused to stop for police, driving 143 miles per hour with a child in the car. Police also smelled marijuana in the car, but were unable to charge him because they found no pot in the vehicle. They also discovered a gun in the car, but that didn't violate any laws in the state of Missouri.

Nevertheless, the arrest is an apparent violation of the league's personal-conduct policy, which would mean another suspension. But the league might wait until the case is adjudicated before handing down a decision. Richardson has another court hearing scheduled for next Monday, but his attorney said there will be a 30-day continuance, according to N.J. Advance Media.

When he returns, Richardson won't walk back into a full-time role.

"He’s got to get in football shape," Bowles said. "You can’t put a guy out there like that that hasn’t been in pads full time and expect him to come in and play. Will he get some reps? Yeah, he’ll get a bunch of reps, but you’ve got to make sure he doesn’t get hurt as well."

I really wish Fitz would stop gambling throwing right into coverage also, he's not at that level to get away with that.

Agreed. I respect him for wanting to get everyone involved, but it comes at a cost. Within the past two weeks he's tried forcing balls to Marshall numerous times, and they ended up in a pick or incomplete.

Geno needs to be starting...We have real recievers this year, a better defense, a real team that could give him the chance to be decent. Your not going anywhere with Fitz as your QB. The guy just isn't accurate. He's a fine decision-maker but his arm is trash.

Gotta hope Geno can come in and play smart because if he can, he's the superior guy.

And you think Geno is better? I don't see it man. I'm willing to let him develop a bit but I have little faith in him being an effective franchise QB.

the fact that the coaching staff hasn't slotted Geno in, or even looked at his direction shows how much they have faith in him.

That plus the news that broke out earlier this year about specific veteran players in the offense stating they don't respect him as a leader and that they don't see him as our long term solution.
They simply just grown tired of his ways.
Fans included.
