2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

I'm a fan of Geno, but honestly I'd rather see Vick get some playing time next game. I only got to watch the 1st half today and besides that opening drive, the rest was brutal

Geno's been ****** but if anyone thinks Vick is the answer couldn't be more wrong. Marty is just horrible and our WR's suck.

We'll be 1-6 go to Vick and it will be horrible as well. I'm in full blown tank mode and hope that Harbaugh and 49ers part ways at the end of the year.

No one is saying Vick is the answer, but his experience and skill set at the moment is better than Geno. You could let Geno keep playing and just let him get his soul crushed. If he's acting like this through 1/4 of the season, I'd hate to see dude after week 12 if they refuse to put Vick in. This is the pressure of playing QB in New York man. That's the brakes. If we tank, I'd rather tank with Vick. Thank you.

if he reacts like this now.... I wonder how he'll be 4-5 wks from now LOL

I'm torn on firing Rex.

On one hand, he's a great player's coach and always  gets the most out of his guys (see last year at 8-8 when we were pegged at 4-12)

On the other hand, we are very undisciplined in terms of penalties and that is a product of coaching.

Then again Idzik and Woody didn't give him much to work with in terms of secondary and offensive weapons and Marty is just horrible with playcalling and making the proper adjustments.

More than likely Rex will be the scapegoat, and if that's the case, please get rid of Marty as well.

If we can somehow win 2 of the next 3 with the Broncos being the loss and be 3-4 playing Buffalo, I like our chances, but we need to be more disciplined.

to outsiders...it ain't rex. y'all know best, but just as someone on the outside looking in, it's the guy making the personnel decisions, which i believe is idzik and woody, right?

Woody is the NFL version of the Wilpons in baseball with my Mets. Cheap little ****boy who wants to win but doesn't want to shell out the cash to do so

Rex does his job. He's not out there throwing a wobbly ball to defenders. This falls on Idzick and Woody. No QB since Testaverde was here. I'd take Pennington's noodle arm over Geno Smith. You could throw Vick out there but he'll get violated rushing for a first down and we'll never see him again. Team needs to go out there with a plan and find a real QB not some gimmick not some hope story. Get someone that throws a good spiral.

Had a great time with my dad at the game yesterday. The loss tho, it put a damper on the day a bit.

The We Want Vick chants were for sure loud, and I too wanted him in the game over Geno who wasn't cutting it at all. On the car ride home though, I realized, if we bring in Vick for the next few weeks, and we fail.. what do we learn? Nothing, considering we'd be playing with a QB who obviously isn't the future of this franchise and likely won't even be signed to the team next season. If we are going to fail, it has to be riding out with Geno. Yet at the same time, it's at the point where I believe Geno isn't worth the experimentation anymore like we first started with by drafting him in the 2nd round and starting him out of the gate last season.

Won't be surprised on bit if we go QB again next draft.

The schedule after the bye week has me feeling optimistic but we would need 3 more wins until then

First of all, enjoying the game with your pops >>>>>>> anything going on with the Jets right now. In terms of what we learn? We learned what I suspected all along, Geno isn't the future. He shows flashes, but it's not all there. I hate to compare the two, but take Andrew Luck for instance, his rookie year, his team stunk, but you saw bits of his game that made you go "he's going to be the future". Not saying Geno has to play like Luck or be on his level, but his game doesn't make you say that and have confidence in saying it. He has moments where he looks good but he hasn't put it all together for me to feel comfortable with giving him the keys. I partly blame Rex. He's on his way of ruining his second young QB. He has to find someone who is good at developing young QBs and knows how to be a sold OC, he doesn't have to be great, just solid, then we would develop some consistency. So now in the next draft, we'll have to put a QB back on the board and look for secondary help and more WR help. It's like a never ending cycle

Yeah but you just KNOW Rex will take the blame for the season if we don't make the playoffs and get the axe. it's unfair but happens in this business.

Marty I hope you're taking notes. THIS is how you beat the brakes off New England, RUN RUN RUN it down their throats.

This makes the season sting more, Pats are looking human this season :smh:

Jets never waste an opportunity to waste an opportunity, I'd imagine when the Jets travel up to KC they'll get the business too.

Plus our D-Line will feast on Brady because of their shot O-line. Falls on Geno to do his part.

Yeah I won't make any prediction about this team. Once you think something, that's when they surprise you with a new low. They'll have Brady looking like a stud again, book it.

It's frustrating seeing the division in such disarray and we can't take advantage of it. I hope we get it together.

Conner played for us from 2010-12 I believe. His nickname was The Terminator

Oh, I'm well aware of who is he and that Rex loved him the first time around, but I meant idk what his role will be this time around and how big of an impact he'll be in the offense.
