2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

i think rex should stay but for pats' sake, let's hope not
laugh.gif
but then again we don't need much help either
tongue.gif

that '10 divisional still haunts me
mean.gif
especially after giving them the beatdown just a month earlier and i was at the game. we were all standing up damn near the whole game cheering and ****. after that brady pick, the jets smelled blood
sick.gif

just get an competent offensive mind, none of that soprano, schotty mediocre minds, and let rex do his thang. but doesn't seem likely. they're probably gonna clean the house on either one (coaching/mangagement).

oh yeah, this is y'all super bowl so with that said, still no excuse and i expect us to leave metlife with a 12-3 record with a thrashing as a bonus. lol.

BTW i thought the titans might have pulled the win as they were doing the laterals and nearing the end zone
eek.gif
but typical jets they eff up all the time but can't even getting effing up on the point for the right moment to their benefit
roll.gif
good bye MM/jameis/whoever? i'm just kidding..........sorta.

There's no can't miss prospect. I don't understand the tanking mentality.

Jets will get destroyed this Sunday.

But Mariota is physically as good a prospect as we've seen in years.

As far as his passing, he goes through progressions and makes the right reads. So far all I'm getting is you're criticizing him for throwing to wide open players?

Like, it's not his fault that he throws to the open man, or that his receivers are getting open. It's not like Oregon is stocked with pro talent on offense — there's like 3 other pro level skill players on that offense. Marcus just makes them all look good, the way Russell has a bunch of bum receivers in Seattle playing above their level. Marcus is as good a pro prospect as you can get unless you're holding out for the next Peyton Manning.

Jameis is a winner but he also makes horrible mental errors. His team is loaded so they just overpower and overcome those muck ups in the end, but if Jameis throws three first quarter picks against the Patriots like he did Florida this year, the Jets WILL lose.

Give me a big athletic QB who completes 70% of his passes and doesn't turn the ball over any day. That with a good Jets defense is 9-10 wins easily. I don't care if he's not can't miss. At this point I'd even taken Tannenhill.

i dont understand winning a few games just for pride when the team is trash. just go in there and get the best possible draft pick. you don't like the prospects available, no big deal you could trade down and still upgrade your team.

Yes. We know you love mariota...

I have a feeling idzik will be around next year so draft position with this fool won't matter much.

I think Idzik sticks around too, but I don't understand how Woody can keep Idzik and save face with the fanbase. He totally mismanaged the roster this season to the point of it looking like sabotage to ensure Rex is out.

There were reports earlier in the season that the Jets didn't even want Idzik but the only reason they hired him is they couldn't give the job away to anyone else. No competent executives wanted anything to do with the Jets GM position.

One radio caller had me in tears about Woody. Dude was like “I was willing to overlook the stunt he pulled contributing truckloads of money to the Romney campaign, but now you wont even spend on this team?? he doesn't even like football! I can tell!”

$22.5 mil in cap space and they do nothing with it. Then let Revis walk to the rivals.

The problem is the team doesn't wanna tank. You hear Sheldon and those guys talk and it hurts to lose. Those guys are gonna go out there on Sunday vs the Patriots and go all out.

The problem is it's only a small amount of guys who actually want to compete. The rest can kick rocks. Say what you want about Rex being incompetent on offense, but the man has passion for the game and winning like no other coach. Now if we look at idzik and woody you have the money to get pieces but Instead you have a cheap owner and a gm who has no knowledge of what he is doing. Idk man those cats don't have the same passion I see in Rex. Give rex a legit OC, and he'll have those boys playing 100 for him all the time.

Lmfao all day in the radio people were saying manziel played like geno

It's screwed up cuz he media was giving jets fans crap for us wanting to tank saying, if you wish your team to tank your not a true fan..he'll I wanted us to lose so bad nit cuz I don't love my team but with the right draft it takes a a tea, on the bottom of the heap this year and right in the middle to top so I'm all for it

Tanking in football doesn't work though unless you have a once in a generation Luck type prospect waiting in the wings. As long as we end up with a top 5 pick I'll be happy. We should be getting an elite talent in the top 5 picks with a boatload of cap room this off-season, I'm really not to glum about our future as long as we can find a halfway decent QB somewhere.

This. Dudes out there playing for contracts, jobs and basically putting their life on the line. Would love to beat the pats, but that's a stretch. I really want to beat the phins tho... Like really.

Tickets on Stubhub are pretty expensive for the game, looks like there's lotta people from Boston making the trip to the Meadowlands :smh:

it's no incentive for them to tank when alot of them won't be there next season and are playing for contracts and a future elsewhere.

rex knows he's gone.   what incentive does he have to intentionally lose to make things easier for the guy who's going to take his job.

the only way i could see a coach having a reason to tank is if he knows his job is secure and all management wants him to do is play guys, see who has a long term future and who isn't part of the plans. ultimately the coach has the say of who plays, so the coach needs to be on board with the tank job.

I don't care what our record is, draft position , nothin. if this is the Rexecutioner's last home game with us, which I hope it ain't, I wanna wipe the floor with the Pats .

I want Rex back :smokin

if it's his last home game this week he's no doubt been my favorite head coach , send Rex out with a Brady Beatdown :smokin

This is one of those games I can see a potential upset. Aside from 45-3 and the butt fumble game, Rex usually has them playing hard when they play New England. Plus it potnetially being his last game and knowing if they win they steal home field advantage from the patriots and likely make them go to Denver in January.

I'm hoping the upset happens.

agree...the game will be tight. it usually is with our two teams. rex knows us well and can usually cook something up to make it tough on brady
