2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

I'm telling you man. Maccagnan is all about the best man winning the position.

Dude is bringing in vets for the minimum and lettin em duke it out for a spot.

I'm loving the guys he's bringing in though.

Signing guys who have NFL experience, but have been forgotten in the FA market due to injury (ex. Joe Mays, Ridley, Stephen Bowen, Lattimore) or other personal matters (Erin Henderson), and let em prove themselves.

These guys are usually the ones with a chip on their shoulder. It'll make guys from the last regime to fight for their spot even harder.

This upcoming training camp is going to so competitive, it'll be interesting to watch

We should do hard knocks :nerd:

NO. We need to stay under the radar and win. We don't need cameras in the face of this team, we need to team to have a "all in" mentality.

Maccagnan's draft history is still a question, but I am willing to give him a chance. I think he will do a great job under the Jets.

What do you guys think of getting Phil Rivers as QB? If we could possibly get him for a low risk trade I'd like to see that happen. I want to see a quality vet under center this year.

i'd love Philip on this team

a QB would put us right into playoff contention imo

Same here I would love Phil idc we need a good qb I'm tired of not having a good Wb since Pennington

Steven a smith still likes geno he might be the only one who does lol

If there's a chance you can get Rivers, I don't know how you can pass that up. It would be an instant upgrade of course, but it's more of pipe dream IMO.

Okay, I know I havent been up in the thread hard but glad to hear there's a large cosign in regards to Rivers. It may be a pipe dream at this point, I just know there was talk this offseason of the Chargers moving on from him. I'm tired of these QB projects. Jets have clearly shown they don't know how to develop raw QB talent. I know Rivers has had his problems in the playoffs, but with the turn around this team has made this offseason with its moves, we really become legit with Phil.

. Curtis losing faith in Geno:  Add Curtis Martin's name to the list of Smith skeptics. In an April 7 interview on the Talk of Fame Network, the Hall of Fame running back replied without hesitation when asked if he's concerned about the Jets at quarterback.

"Yes,” he said. “I don’t think Geno has shown he can get the job done. Now, a lot can happen in an offseason, and I think his commitment to the offseason is going to determine what he‘s able to do this year. [Bill] Parcells used to tell me, ‘You have two years to get it done, and three is the max.’ I believe this is Geno’s third year, [so] he’s going to really have to produce. And if I was an owner of the team, he would really have to produce to stay around.”
Curtis "My Favorite" Martin speaks the truth!

Geno looked like an actual NFL quarterback in preseason last year...then Week 1 came around

but then Week 17 he puts up a 158.3
