2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

I liked Kerley. He wasn't a burner but he is what he is. a dude who won't drop passes and make those critical 3rd down catches.

That production didn't reflect well against his contract though.

Coach likes the big receivers and so Enunwa took a lot of his PT.

he was one of the leftovers from Idzik/Rex

once we got BMarsh, Decker, & Enunwa he was kinda phased out

Still think he was better than enuwna, better hands for sure. I know they had him the HB/TE role just was never sold on him.

Kerley was also expendable when we drafted Devin Smith.

can't forget about him. Hopefully he pans out.

Rumors are forte deal is 2mill less than Ivory, if true Jets just upgraded for less money. Definitely can't be mad at that.

Olivier Vernon just got $85M, $52M guaranteed

should've extended Mo Wilk last summer :smh:

Welp, we've got to get the trade done.

He is fam. Bears been shopping him heavily, they're working with his agent to get a deal done otherwise they'll release him.

Low-level tender was placed on Kenbrell Thompkins for $1.67M, keeping him on the roster in 2016. Jets have first right of refusal.

Are we getting any compensatory picks for ivory or snacks ?

For Snacks I read on the Jets forum I frequent possibly a 4th or even a 3rd; not sure how true that post was. Ivory, I'm not sure.

Taken from a poster on The Gang Green boards -

Fitz had a "monster career year" and managed 15th in the league in yards, 29th in completion %, tied for 5th with most interceptions, and 24th with rating. He tied for 10th with TD's, kudos to him. But largely he was mediocre and crapped all over himself vs. Buffalo with the playoffs on the line. So his career year would be considered middling to crappy to the rest of the leagues QB's.

I would take Fitz back next year, but zero chance and I mean zero chance I pay this guy anything close to what can be considered big money. If he knew what was best for him, he would sign a 3 year 24 million dollar contract with like 9 million guaranteed and stay with the Jets where he has weapons and the fanbases and coaching support.

Extremely spot on given the situation at hand.

^ those are my exact thoughts

wherever he goes won't have Marshall, Forte, Decker, Chan Gailey, & a top notch defense
