2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

This loss falls on the hands on Geno Smith. That entire secondary was depleted and Geno still couldn't make something happen.

Playcalling and personal packages mainly at the RB position were at fault too. Also, besides kerley these guys couldn't catch a cold.

In all the jets showed too much respect to that defense.

It's been like 6 years now since we've had anybody who was really worth **** offensively. We just have nobody who can makes someone miss in space.

Alot of you guys are too young but the reason I became a Jets fan, the Ken O'Brien to Wesley Walker and Al Toon days ....

used to absolutely Light it Up :smokin

too early for this **** though

Ken O'Brien never won the Jets a playoff game though.

It's sad that Mark Sanchez has won the most playoffs games in the franchises history

Curtis Martin drew me into being a Jets fan. I used to watch highlights of him all the time & him being on the local team allowed me to watch his games.

It's one or the other with the Jets, you also learn that.. Sanchez :smh:

I still got his jersey too ...

Sanchez would've been good if he had a real OC that believe in him. Schotty did nothing to help that kid.

No way, man. I do agree that a lot of it has to do with confidence in terms of a QB's growth. But what it boils down to is if the guy has "it" or not.

Sanchez only did as well as he did, because the Jets at the time had one of the best running attacks in the league and consistently forced the defense to look out for the run. Some of Sanchez's most memorable passes were all off the play-action. Once the Jets let go of Thomas Jones, that's when the run game declined heavily and Mark Sanchez was asked to do way too much than he could handle.

Dat offense of Jones, Tony Richardson in at Fullback, Braylon/Holmes/Cotchery and Brad Smith :pimp:

Loved that team man. When Braylon caught that TD against New England in the playoffs :smh: happiest time ever being a jets fan

Bro... I get SO depressed watching highlights from the 09/10 and 10/11 playoff runs. Baffles my mind how we didn't make the SB at least once.

As bad as Geno's been, he can make some tough throws and he's only 23. On the flip side, a similar guy like Ryan Tannehill is 26. Decision making is something that you can undoubtedly get better in and it's not like the Jets have a plethora of offernsive talent to make it easier for him. Can't believe we skipped on drafting a reciever this year, don't care how Pryor is, that was so dumb.

WR & CB are the 2 most obvious needs that must be addressed. I don't understand how you can have cap room to sign a few guys, but not do anything. :smh:

In the last 2 seasons, Geno Smith has been blitzed on 39.5% of his dropbacks, the highest percentage in the NFL.

And without a reliable wideout who can make plays on the outside what do you think will happen?

Idzik wants to bring his guy in IMO, if this team happens to overachieve and gets into the playoffs Rex stays around.

I don't think another 8-8 season keeps him around.

A buddy of mine personally knows Woody Johnson (They're both members of this country club out on East Hampton). He says that Woody's relationship with Rex is pretty strong. If he had to compare it, it would be the same as Jerry Jones and Jason Garrett. If anyone is on the hot seat this year, it's Idzick and not Rex.

Woody also isn't too crazy about Marty Mornhinweg either. If the Jets do make it to 8-8. I can see Rex staying, but Idzick and Mornhinweg would probably be considered let go.

The only way my friend sees Rex leaving is if he did some sort of PR scandal or if the media was seriously out for his head. Woody really isn't that concerned for winning either. Sure, he wants his football team to do well, but he cares more about revenue and ticket sales. As long as the fans love Rex, he's here to stay.
