2019-20 New York Jets season thread. 1-4 (10/21 vs NE MNF)

there's no one in Cleveland to keep Josh in check.

if we was to come here (i doubt it) there's vets like Marshall, Decker, & Harris. also being in a winning environment could change a lot.

Johnny, Johnny, Johnny. This is a serious topic. Well, first, you've got to forget about football, sir. You need to go get your life together. And to be quite frank, I don't think you get it. You don't understand. You're ruining a very, very special opportunity. It's an honor to be in the NFL. ... There is a thing out there called divine mentorship, where you can learn from others' mistakes. He has the opportunity to really sit back and reflect on his situation, look at others, and learn from it and be better

Special team coach Bobby April was fired. Special teams was trash, regime isn't playing games. Good to see.

Thank God April is gone. Assistant ST coach Steve Hagen and asst. o-line coach Ron Heller are also out - they are the last of Rex' staff. Bowles can bring in his own guys now :smokin .

If they draft a QB, then they do not believe Petty is their QB.

With Paul Depodesta now in cleveland, they might blow up the whole thing, which would mean a few guys may become available. Haden, Gordon, Thomas. Not that i think the jets would get any of those guys, but who knows.

Need a Return guy bad. with a lot of speed lol.  Since Westoff left, special teams has been a complete mess. I used to love going into games knowing we had the better SP teams then our opponent.  Hopefully these moves today is a step in the right direction.

All in all, disappointing end to a season for which my expectations changed as the season went on. If you would of told me at the beginning of the year that the Jets would go 10-6 i would have said its a success. But it feels more of a failure, wasted opportunity. AFC was ripe for picking. None of these AFC teams are great. And a lot of them are beat up. What could have been. I did enjoy the ride though.

I wouldn't mind Haden to replace Cromartie. As far as Petty goes, I say let him marinate for another year or 2 before putting him on the field.

I wouldn't be upset to see Snacks gone. What happened to Leonard Williams this season? Seems like he was missing all year.

You watch the games? Leonard had a strong rookie year. 3 sacks, Mel Kiper named him his DROY.

He played nearly 800 snaps, was outstanding against the run, helped free up teammates to rush the passer, and actually did some great work in pushing the pocket himself. You really have to watch Williams on every snap because stats won't do him justice. I had him as the No. 1 overall player in the 2015 NFL draft, and I think he lived up to that. And yes, he was a total steal at No. 6 for New York. Great work by that front office.

Sheesh...I must've totally missed something then

it's all good lol.

It's hard for him to stand out when you have guys like Mo Wilk, Snacks and Richardson playing in the front as well.

I remember Wilkerson's rookie year, he played every snap it seemed like, however his numbers didn't necessarily pop.

look at him now.

Leonard Williams is off to the same kind of start. He'll only get better.

Snacks is a difference maker. Again you won't see it in the numbers but this guy is probably one of the best guys against the run. Nose Tackle isn't a glorified position. You often do the dirty work to let other guys make plays. He does that so well, but he also penetrates the line almost each and every play.

Snacks was rated the best run stopper by PFF like 3 years in a row

it's crucial that we keep him. if it means letting Ivory walk, so be it

Really don't want to see snacks go. I rather move Richardson TBH

BOOM!
I don't want Snacks to go. He's a top nose tackle in this league. That's hard to find. Sheldon has LOTS of concerns off the field. I don't think you can trust him and give him as much cash as he wants. I'll easily take Mo and Dame.

All of this, and the last couple of games they had Richardson standing up. Don't want to see this same failed experiment.

Mike can't possibly see that special teams unit and say these guys should've kept their job. Special teams has been horrible for years now.

I'm not even sure we will keep Sheldon after all of his off the field actions

It wouldn't bother me if we end up letting him walk since we're so deep in lineman
