Homeowner shoots intruder who was not pregnant...

Lol at the car racing and good aim comparison.

All of us, me included can talk about how we would handle a situation like this but in reality we don't know unless it happens to us and hopefully it doesn't happen to any of us.

in the heat of the moment and the dark at night, factor in the fact that the old man is probably scared out of his mind initially and then outraged that he's getting robbed again. I don't think any of us would be thinking rationally in that situation when everything happened so fast and unexpectedly.

Dude is 80 years old and if he's telling the truth about that being his first time shooting someone, I doubt he has great aim, let alone aim good enough to shoot a moving target in the leg in the dark of the night.
you can also never race a car and still be a good driver, though.
Because driving a car and precise aiming are so similar

you obviously do not understand metaphors.

one can practice to be good at something yet never have a real-life application to it.
No it was just a bad metaphor.

The fact of the matter is, driving a car to wal-mart and shooting at a small moving target in bad lighting don't take anywhere near the same amount of skill.

He's also 80 so his eyesight can't be that good and I doubt his hands are that steady either.

nahhhhhh i can pretty much tell you what I would do. If i already shot her and she was on the ground bleeding and pleading no please dont kill me im pregnant i would not pull the trigger. His words were i shot her again. I know exactly what happened to her she died. she is best off dead. doesnt sound like he was scared out of his mind of getting robbed again. lol..

i dont know man. I cannot be on this guys side. He said himself she was already down, shot, and he shot her again. Thats not self defense thats wanting to kill someone.

thank you

Can we please stop with this he was scared to death nonsense or that he was just shooting wildly and happened to kill her

Homes made his mind up she was dying and said so himself

he should go to prison

I could understand cutting the dude a little slack if he fatally shot her with the one bullet...

but she was ALREADY DOWN.  All he had to do was stay next to her and make sure she didn't go anywhere. Instead he decided to put another bullet in her.

Dude deserves to be convicted.
at 80?

She was already down, pleading for her life.  She obviously thought the 80 year old dude with a gun was a threat, and she was right.

If someone points a gun at you and says "don't move" and you're not armed, you're not moving.
If he went this route I'm sure she would've tried to get away. An 80 year old man is not coordinating all that efficiently enough to not get caught slipping. He did what he had to do and the law might get him in the end but if it do it will not be long. Morally he is innocent and that broad got what she deserved.

Wouldn't be surprised if he had early onset dementia. When they get defensive they give no damns until they snap out of it so hopefully he visits a neurologist. It'll probably get him off for sure.

they busted his shoulder and collarbone before he shot her; I am sure he figured they would be back again if this was the third time

"I shot her, so that's going to leave a message on (her accomplice’s) mind for the rest of his life," Greer told the station.

Here is the thing, hindsight is 20/20 and like @Cedric none of us truly know what we would do in a situation like that. It is easy to rationalize things after the fact, but in the heat of the moment you don't know what you would do. These people didn't care about his safety when they pushed him to the floor. Nor did they care about their unborn child. All they cared about was stealing his belongings.

My concern when it comes to home invasions is the fear that the culprits will come back. In a situation like that I would want to make sure they never return. I really don't feel bad for them, but I will still wait for more info to come out about the shooting. The boyfriend is still on the loose, so lets see if he values his freedom more than seeing the killer of his baby moms and child get prosecuted.

Its weird to agree with you after the other day, but your 100% spot on with this post.

Thanks for describing her leaving out what she's done to warrant the situation from even happening in the first place.

okay she robbed the dude. shes the scum of the earth. but being killed after being wounded damn. cops cant even do that ****. lol they would be investigated. Although, it doesnt stop cops from just killing anybody they want. lol

Yeah she only robbed him, because that's harmless right? Have someone break into your home, invade your privacy, destroy your peace of mind, DO IT AGAIN, attempt to do it yet AGAIN, and then say, she "just robbed him".

Again though. Shes still alive if she doesn't make a morally wrong decision in the first place.

How much do you really value your own life, if your breaking and entering into a persons house?

I don't care if said person is 18 or 80. You don't know what's behind that door. Throw the whole legal aspect out, you don't know who your messing with or trying. You run the risk of trying someone who can potentially do very bad things to you.

I've expressed several times he was warranted in the first shot as they broke into his home and he has every right to defend his home

my issue is him executing her after she was already handled

but carry on with your usual shenanigans

You don't agree so it's shenanigans. K.
