Strip clubs are trash out here man so I can't really recommend those. As far as food, Croakers Spot & Mama J's are two solid places to check out. Croakers Spot (They have one in Pburg & RVA) is seafood based and Mama J's is Soul food. Shockoe Bottom is my go to for night life. Cary street has a nice strip of bars on it (Tobacco Co., Cha Cha, Society, Kai's, Fish Bowl and a couple more) and Off The Hookah is right around the corner. Encore is in that area as well. It has a good happy hour and Thursdays usually be jumping. It's a diverse crowd on Cary Street so expect a mixture of folks out there.  If you go one street over to Main Street you can party with the Ratchets. It's 90% black people on Main Street but it be packed out there on Friday & Saturdays. "The Fan" is another popular spot for night life as well. I rarely go out there as Shockoe Bottom is much better IMO. Just a few recommendations to get you going.
