Stephen A. Smith Apologizes about Domestic Violence Views

Yeh so whether or not a woman knows what she's doing, that doesn't give you a right or reason to hit her.  Bottom line.  (I put right or reason because justify is too broad a term)

"Oh I slapped her because she dont know any better"

or

"Oh she know better than that, she keep playing with me I had to slap her"

FOH.  If a grown woman is acting like a kid, that's grounds for hitting her like a kid tho?
but it gives you a reason under the same guise to hit a child? and yes it does...... if a man/woman heshe whoever comes up and intentionally try to do harm to me im laying them out... and to be honest depending on the circumstance i aint waiting to get struck be it man/woman.

If a chick came at me iuno wih a knife, or tried to hit me with a skillet, etc.... i aint trying to control/restrain jack.... im str8 up swinging. And no i aint waiting to get hit either.

actually can somewhat relate to this as my sisters ex-husband had hit/beat her up one time..... And seeing that overall he is a decent standup kinda guy i did ask/wonder why he hit her...and i didnt just go off the handle and whoop his axx... Come to find out my sis thought he was cheating and antagonizing him, and as my nephew/niece had told me momma (my sister) went off the deep end and threw hot cooking oil on him. In that case, understanding why he snapped and slapped the crap outta her, if nothing else but sheer reaction to hot vegetable oil on your body. So tbh i wasnt even mad, and for awhile she was pissed at me and said i shouldve stepped in, stood up for her etc...To which i was like nah i understand why he did what he did.
Damn

Was she West Indian?

lol nah, for awhile for like yrs she wouldnt even talk to me, she was like your my brother you suppose to protect me/defend me... she was like wow your disloyal to family and how are you gonna choose some dude offa the street over your own flesh and blood. She literally was on some imma disown you as family because i sided with him.

Truuu but you do know there are thousands if not millions of domestic court cases where that exact thing happens tho right?

The system is messed up, we all know that, but until we can change the legal consequences of domestic violence, we as men need to learn to have enough self control to not hit a woman, regardless of the situation.  Thats what makes us men, character and level headedness in times of panic.  At least to me that's what part of being a man is.  Of course we need to defend ourselves when the situation calls for it, but we also have to be smart enough to know the repercussions of our actions.

It's out of place for anyone, man or woman to provoke us to the point that we should even have to think about hitting them.  But you retaliating will always make you look like the bad guy because you kept the stupidity going.

OK put it this way, and Ill leave this issue alone after this because Im getting off work soon.  In the NFL, NBA etc, weve all seen a situation where a player does something illegal to a player of the opposing team.  The player retaliates, and they get the flag/foul called on him.  You know the saying, "they always see the second guy but never the antagonizer."  So knowing that, wouldnt it behoove you to not get antagonized?  Like, unless youre Metta World Peace, wouldnt it be smarter not to retaliiate when something like that happens, so you dont potentially cost your team the game?  So why is that any different in real life?  No one is looking at the TV like, "well he did foul him first and the ref didnt see it, so I understand why he got the tech."  How many techs does it take for you to "get it?"  You cant treat a domestic issue like DeMarcus Cousins treats an NBA game.

thats why i encourage guys to keep a tazer/stun gun...... chick get outta line start wailing on you.... take a glass of water a splash her with it and then hit her with the stun gun.

Jesse Palmer had to apologize for doing a Horns down sign ??? How pathetic. If they suspended everybody on ESPN for simply making fun of and taking shot at other players and teams, ESPN would only have Sage Steele and Mike Berman. They just slandered Steve Nash for being a decrepit corpse, will anyone be getting suspended or fired today? His feelings may be hurt :wow: someone please help

Maybe Nash would get an apology if one of his ex boyfriends used to beat him, or he'd been a rape victim...

didnt nash have a black baby.... and folks was saying it was barbosas.... i remember iuno if it was espn or not saying something to this affect.

Forgot this happened

Few years ago, I went to a bar and some drunk *** white broad pushed me for absolutely no reason. My boys came and grabbed me cuz they thought I was gonna beat her ***. Her bf walks up and apologizes, while she's just screaming at me and him.

I go on about my business and then theres a buncha commotion... shorty started wailing in dude, bouncers put her out and the cops came

Just listened to Tariq podcast...

At first... I was like "what ever dude"..

But when he started bringing up SAS's history of going in in black people...

And how SAS thought he was safe in white folks minds...

But it was a reality check to show him he's not fully engulfed in their society....

A little extreme for my take... But he made some good points.

I don't think espn would have a maury type story like that. I read all about it here on nt.

I think we can all agree that if guys stop messing with these ****** up in the head females, we won't even have to be in a position like this to begin with.

Everyone talks about how a woman should leave a man if he beats her, mistreats her emotionally, etc.

But for some reason, these dumb ***** stay with these crazy women who talk all kinds of **** and press all your buttons and puts their hands all on you.

Then snap one day and end up in jail.

When all you had to do is find some new ***

thats not fair... that would be like telling women who always end up with a guy who beats on them... hey if they stopped messing with these/those kinda dudes who abuse women they wouldnt be in the position that they are in.

I agree with the general concept of what you're saying but sometimes you don't find out the chick is crazy until one day she lunches out and decides to be f'in crazy.

Plus what about you aren't even in a relationship with, I had a broad walk up and punch me for something I said to her line sister. Didn't even involve her.

Everybody just needs to learn after a certain age you're responsible for your own actions, if you don't wanna catch that fade keep ya hands to yaself.

exactly same for women who be with dudes who are abusers.... no one says to them oh you shouldve known better, or somehow imply that its their fault for dating/hooking up with ole dude. so why cant the same be said for guys and hooking up/dating a crazy chick?

No, that's like telling women who are in a busier relationships to leave when you see early signs of emotional/physical abuse and to use your future sight abilities as an alarm.

In other words, if he/she seems crazy. They most likely are

but in many cases sometimes ppl cant tell until an incident or something happen then at that point its past the whole i shouldve left this chick alone, when the crazy is presenting itself right before your very eyes.

What bothers me is that he's being suspended for an opinion.......not an action or a threat....an opinion

Were any people suspended for suggesting that Trayvon Martin "provoked" Zimmerman? Were any people suspended for suggesting that Eric Garner "provoked" the NYPD squad?

It just seems to be in this country, Black men are the only people who can't be "victims" without someone questioning IF we provoked it. Also we seem to be the only ones who when speaking up....come off "too strong"

And this is a cultural thing. For us as Black men, law enforcement has not always been in our favor. So some of us take matters into our own hands. WHICH is why WE have to have those talks with our female loved ones about "You bet not do nothin to HIM....cause thats gon get ME in trouble for retaliating"

word.

and jsut so im clear, where did this rape context beadle was spitting come from? was ray rice and wife fighting over what she was wearing? did it ever come out why they fought? :nerd:
