Stephen A. Smith Apologizes about Domestic Violence Views

It's crazy you can rationalize a chick talking as provocation to get hands put on her
How is that crazy exactly? Because we were raised to NEVER do anything to hit a woman?

Now, I am NOT saying I would, so don't take this as me saying I would.

But I can EASILY see how a woman going off at the mouth to a dude being enough to motivate him to hit her. I can easily see that.
I raised not to put my hands on someone unless they touch me so yes it's crazy that chicks getting popped for just talking

Makes sense. Just how you were raised. Everybody wasn't raised that way though. Harsh reality.

But any woman that verbally, emotionally, or physically abuses a man should be READY to get hands laid on them.

Again, I am not saying it is right, but if you do any of those things to a man, and a man hits you, don't be surprised.

Again, I am not saying it is right

Truth

I just think these guys miss the point that we all agree domesic violence is wrong on all levels.

No man should be out there beating on women.

I also understand this is real life and some women don't know when to leave things alone. Doesn't make it right. But a woman shouldn't be able to think I can act as reckless as i want because I'm a woman and I shouldn't be touched or harmed.

It doesn't work that way.

Right on ... Beat that b up when she piss you off ... Stand up to piss my dude ... Mad respect for you.

Then they talk about extreme. Dude said he clarified everything and made anther statement so it couldn't be misconstrued but what he really meant was ......

LoL

This can't be serious ...

 pow pow

I still can't understand that after all these replies, people have no clue about middle ground, nor basic context and comprehension.

#NTExtreme

But women need to be taught, at an early age, to be prepared to get their heads knocked off if they come at a man the wrong way. Maybe that will instill SOME sort of ant-wreckless attitutde that so many of them lack today.

Again, I am not saying it is right

Officially suspended a week. Thanks Michelle Beadle and the fellow white knights on the Internet for creating the fake outrage. Won't be surprised if his suspension turns to a termination.
Whoopi Goldberg Stuns Co-Hosts With Unexpected Stance: ‘I Know I’m Gonna Catch a Lot of Hell, but I Don’t Care’

Whoopi Goldberg came out with a fiery defense of ESPN commentary Stephen A. Smith on “The View” Monday, saying no woman should be “surprised” if they make the decision to hit a man and the man hits back.

Goldberg was outnumbered by the all-female panel as she repeatedly argued, “If you hit somebody, you cannot be sure you are not going to get hit back!”

“I’m know I’m going to catch a lot of hell, but I don’t care,” she said.

The View

Smith apologized on Monday for comments he made last week about domestic violence during his reaction to NFL running back Ray Rice’s two-game suspension for allegedly knocking out his wife. He cautioned women against doing “anything to provoke wrong actions,” though he also made it clear that it’s never OK for a man to hit a woman.

Whoopi explained that Rice’s wife reportedly admitted to hitting him before the incident, which is where she said she believes Smith’s remarks came from.

Smith was accused of blaming domestic violence on women — and so was Whoopi on Monday. Guest host Sunny Hostin accused Whoopi of playing “blame the victim.”

“Oh, my god, that is not blame the victim! I just said, don’t anybody hit anybody,” she said. “But If you make the choice as a woman, who’s four foot three, and you decide to hit a guy who’s six feet tall and you’re the last thing he wants to deal with that day and he hits you back, you cannot be surprised!”

To be fair, Whoopi, like Smith, never argued that it is ever acceptable for a man to hit a woman.

some of these chicks dont have any idea of how to act with a man.

hence all that getting in the face and ultimately putting their hands on em.

i think it has something to do with never having a father around.

mom acted the same way and its a never ending cycle.

No, you cannot provoke rape. I've had a chick tease me like hell one night and guess what? I went to sleep with blue balls

Dudes who rape women are filthy especially the ones who get them super drunk and take advantage of them when they're damn near passed out.

Don't see how yu can even get off on a half passed out chick....y'all ****** weird

Now he suspended for a week, even after all the apologies.

I guess its better than Rob Parkers punishment.

He was suspended at first too. The fact that ESPN PR isn't saying whether its a paid suspension or not needs to be looked at. If it's not paid, he's gone.

Wow at him getting suspended for that.

I could accept, tolerate, and respect the opinions of anyone who took exception to what he said. However it didn't warrant a suspension.

Regarding sensitivity and people being easily offended these days, him getting suspended for it is a bad look to me. The dude on that Boston radio station who personally attacked Erin Andrews, he should be suspended. Stephen A Smith for making an opinion which to some goes against the grain shouldn't be suspended.

We want people to have opinions and not give vanilla commentary but when someone slightly goes against the grain we villify them and punish them.

Like I said, criticize Stephen A Smith all you want if you disagree with him but why suspend him. Michelle Beadle should be ashamed of how she handled this and I do question her true intentions.

She could've done much more positive by educating Stephen A Smith privately about how some women in her position might interpret the word "provoke" rather then use her platform on twitter to make him look like a monster.

I don't think its a reach to say she probably lost the respect of some of her coworkers off how she handled this.

But I would recommend you watch this timeline for a bit...for a glimpse into America. I'd share but the ignorance and language is brutal.

******* clown. This the same person who slept with cats on the Packers the week of the ESPYs and wanted to screw Aaron Rodgers. But she's the voice for DV. FOH.

Haven't liked her since the issue she had with Lebatard.

I don't even like sas but messed up...i been wanting her off,
can't stand to hear a girl talk sports.....

She usually gets more than the average twitter hate because she says stupid things and her opinions suck. This week it's probably 10x the amount she is used to.
