Stephen A. Smith Apologizes about Domestic Violence Views

Maybe tell her to put the kid down and throw a medium-powered punch to her vagina?

No race card needed here.

It came down to a WOMAN crying potential rape even though it's completely unrelated

I would like to know Beadle and some of NT's finests opinions on this situation?

What is this man to do?

He probably cheated on her and deserved it, and she should be commended for even having to deal with him.

Right?

Fixed.

Right?

Thats how I see it. She's the real victim here. His life isn't in danger, so theres no justification for any type of response from him.

The strength difference between the two is just too large for him to engage.

That poor, defenseless woman. :rolleyes

Why didn't he just walk away the opposite direction, smh

They have a child. They could be going anywhere. Doctors appointment, home, etc etc.

God forbid he takes his child and leaves her though. That might end worse than if he knocked her *** out.

"NEVER TAKE A WOMANS CHILD FROM HER!"

But lets just overlook the fact that she obviously has an anger issue.

Blastoise, you are being naive man.

Anyways,

ESPN might have shot themselves in the foot. First Take, along with PTI, are the most popular shows.

Maybe, JUST maybe, what Beadle did was a calculated attack 1/2 of what makes First Take special. I mean nobody watches her show so maybe there is some resentment there? I don't know, just throwing that out there.

Naw man, I just don't think her being white was the pivotal point. Her being a former victim of domestic violence and rape, IMO, was.

swinging on someone with the baby in her hands...

:smh: :smh:

Isn't it assault if someone puts hands on you unwillingly, no matter the gender?

So if a girl touches/slaps/pushes a guy, then she is guilty of assault. Then, if the guy decks her in return, he also is guilty of assault.

So really, both people are wrong for their actions, two-wrongs don't make a right etc. Sometimes it's instinctive reaction and sometimes it isn't. Only the individual who throws the hands knows.

Now if the female is saying "blah blah blah I know EXACTLY what to say to drive you over the edge" and a dude swings as a result of a precise and direct knowable verbal provocation, then the guy is the only one guilty of physical assault. Although, you empathize for him because anyone can understand that everyone has a limit. Some women do this, on purpose. If you are with a chick that does this verbal baiting then you gotta ask yourself, why am I with her? Then remove yourself.

I guess I'm the only one that sees that there is a west nile mosquito on his shoudler and his girl is trying to hit it away but the fly is too fast for her.

He called you Blastoise

Someone on another forum said it best
ALOT of folks out here (and yall know what I mean) dont ever encounter a woman that Stephen A is REALLY speaking about

we ALL know that woman.....

the 87% of the country that doesnt deal with that type of person was outraged....the 13% that do....understood him COMPLETELY

"someone," huh....

Look at that capitalization.... that's all you, mang.

Did something else happen in this thread for it to be 28 pages??? :nerd:

Just dudes claiming outlandish things such as "girls provoke their own rape by wearing mini skirts"

"Every guy is stronger than every girl"

And my favorite

"Girls never start domestic violence"

JJ, that isn't me man. I don't use the ......... instead of singular periods to end a sentence/thought.

Another good point
I hate that he got suspended too.

It's stuff like this that make me say "I should start writing again"

As Black men, our experiences are so different than what most of the mainstream media can even fathom. That's why our perspectives on certain things are different.

A situation can arise, and it can be the "mainstream's" viewpoint and then there would be "ours." Now we can understand where they're coming from but there's usually no effort to understand where ours was coming from.

We haven't had anyone to be able to eloquently explain these cultural differences in specific situations because once you get to a certain level in media, your voice gets muted for fear of what happened to Stephen A. or worse.

Like people wanted to paint Mike Vick to be this thug who is some kinda of pyschopath who kills dogs. Nobody wanted to take the time to figure out where Mike comes from and how that activity (right or wrong) was woven into the fabric of his community.

People couldn't understand why Plax had a gun on himself. When one of your teammates gets robbed a week earlier by his driver/bodyguard and you come from a place where people will take what you have if they know you got it...you feel the need to protect yourself.

Sometimes guys do some stupid ish, but often times I sit back in amazement at how some guys get destroyed because of a lack of understanding (or lack of desire to)

I wouldnt want to hit a woman. The only time i would hit a woman was if she was placing my family in danger most likely with an object in her hand that could do harm.

a 2 game suspension for legal trouble upset you?
my bad, realized you're not talking about rice, I agree.
They're paid to be entertaining, can't be mad when they "cross" the invisible line sometimes.

...yeah, that's the media's fault and only happens to black celebrities apparently :rolleyes

let's be honest, this stuff sucks, but it happens more to white celebrities than anything.
you guys only like to see your points whether they conflict or not.

You'll laugh about "white guilt", then in a case like this, say black celebrities have it harder ... can't be both ways, bruh
