I wanna see 3 things:

- Torres ball out for the laughs

- CR7 has a great performance

- Simone go off on Varane once again

So the latest rumor mill is that Laporta will run in the next Barca election & apparently has a ton of support already within the club/socios. He's state he'd like to bring Pep back after his contract with Bayern expires in 2016 but instead of managing, Pep is rumored to want the Sporting Director position. It's said they will bring in an ex player to manage. Puyols, Xavi, & Abidal are names being rumored once they earn their coaching badges.

Laporta has said he would sever ties with the Qatar sponsorship immediately once/if he's elected & would spearhead a movement for a Euro super league to which Barca would join.

I like what he's saying, but the club needs a clean break at this point... I can't believe he's being welcomed back given his creative accounting practices. The tail end of his reign also caused such disharmony inside the club which led to the situation today.

Even though he didn't get to take advantage of it, I don't like how Laporta changed the term of office for the president from 4 to 6 years.

Good looks, sounds no different than getting tickets to events here. The only question is do the same rules apply for El Clasico in March. I'm prepared to spend half a grand just to be in the stadium.
They don't. If i understand correctly, the members get first dibs on them. I don't think you can get them from the FCB website prior, unless the ticket holders don't want to go to the game.

Realistically, Messi isn't going anywhere unless he absolutely presses the issue. No one at the club wants to known as the guy that sold Messi.

Plus, I would imagine FFP rules prevent clubs from paying the astronomical transfer fee since they'd have to balance it out some way.

I'm rather shocked the club is bringing about new elections really.

That new Turkish airline deal and a new kit deal from Samsung can help with FFP

I'm glad the new elections are coming. There needs to be change and that's the first step in the right direction. Now let's get rid of Eusebio haha

I just don't want Laporta back at the club... It's amazing to think back in 2010, people were so sick of him that Rosell won the election with 61% of the 57,088 member votes.

The club needs a fresh direction at this point. I'd like to see the term changed back to 4 years instead of the 6. I'd also like to see Agustin Benedito get a shot & bring in Sevilla's Monchi as Sporting Director.

Let's say that the fee us around £180m and a contract around £350k/wk so his amortized FFP hit annually would be around £55m.

For comparison, the (estimated) amortized FFP number for Hazard is around £18m. Di Maria the most expensive is £22m per season.

Whether the Messi estimates are correct it will be close to that number and unless there is a United sized kit deal coming or a lot of revenue coming in from players sold, Chelsea aren't realistically going to be able to afford Messi and be compliant.

Messi's transfer fee is reported to be in the £230 - £260 mill range. I've read it could be as high as £330 mill.

220 EUR Million for Messi is ridiculous. He's not worth that much.

But he is worth somewhere in the 150 million range, and even then - Chelsea and City cannot buy him. It's just way too tricky, so many moves would need to be made. I don't think it's feasible.

Someone in the media needs to show us the numbers.

^ Now that's silly... that would be like being sentenced to play in North Korea...

Where on earth was that posted? Reddit?

Well if you believe the Metro :smile:rolleyes), the transfer fee is supposed to be £331mill...

Not sure if it's that high, but I know when he got the contract reworked last fall the transfer fee was raised to an astronomically high figure.

So, €400 Million for Messi?? Yea right, That English tabloid is tripping, even by it's own ridiculous standards.

Messi wouldn't go for more than €180 Million if Barca was ever that dumb to let him go. I know Chelsea and City have money, but 200 million worth for Messi who turns 28 next season - Nah, no way. They can't be that dumb.

Getting the grill ready....got a Corona in hand...some ribs I'm going to throw on and watch the game...

I go to my satellite decoder to put on an automatic reminder to switch channels for the game...

Only to find out my satellite provider didn't pick up coverage of the Copa Del Rey this year (they do every year)...had me standing there like...
