 @ Big Sam's quote about United today.

"I suppose in the end we couldn't cope with long-ball United. It was just thump it forward and see what they could get, and in the end it paid off for them."

Great weekend for the Simeone family. Cholo & his Atleti side thump Madrid & Simeone's son Giovanni aka Cholito propelled the U20 Argentina squad to the Sudamericano with a 2-1 win over Uruguay. The River Plate striker scored 9 goals in 9 matches. :smokin

:nerd: Transfer Rumor: Madrid setting their sights on Chelsea's Courtois. Madrid would package a hefty fee & Jose's boy Varane...

Nice debut for Schurrle at Wolfsburg.

Barca has sacked B manager Eusebio Sacristan. Sad to see the man go as he was a vital member of Cruyff’s Dream Team & second in command during Rijkaard’s managing tenure, but the firing is justified. The B team has been doing horrible & still in danger of being relegated to the 3rd tier.

Someone stole La Decima... :x :smh:

REAL MADRID

La Décima disappears from Real Madrid City
A giant-sized replica of the Champions League trophy which the team won in Lisbon is no longer on its plinth

There was something amiss at Real Madrid’s training ground in Valdebebas on Sunday. A giant-sized replica of the Champions League trophy which the team won in Lisbon last season, which had featured alongside another nine trophies on a walkway, was no longer on its plinth. It isn’t clear whether the trophy had been stolen or taken down for other reasons.

*prays Egypt gets their **** together and qualifies for next AFCON*

Geez, I didn't know 22 fans were killed during an Egyptian Premier League match between Zamalek & Enppi. :x :smh:

The league has suspended all games until further notice.

It was just 2012 when 74 fans were killed in the Port Said massacre.

RIP to all the victims.

Sad to say but this is normal out there.

You would think the sport would unite people but it does the complete opposite. Its a competitive league lately and it made for some great matches, sad they shut it down but they had to do what they had to do.

The Times (UK) is reporting that Di Maria's wife & mother-in-law are very distraught after the break in to their home in Manchester occurred recently. The family has moved into a hotel & are reported to be refusing to return to the home.

I didn't know Di Maria fought off 2 robbers... :x The Times went on to say the family wants to leave the city ASAP.

Let's be real here, Angel rolled on the ground waiting for the red cards to be shown.

Wish him the best though, that's unfortunate

Reports circulating Raheem isn't signing the current offer from Liverpool. Smart lad. Don't understand why the club is trying to low ball him when some top clubs maybe beckoning.

Dortmund local paper Ruhrnachrichten & a local radio station are stating they have confirmed sources saying Reus is staying with the club & will be signing an extension shortly.

I'm starting to have serious questions for LVG who seems not to have answers every week.

RVP and Falcao are too similar. Drop one. Play a combo including Wilson for pace, or Rooney for experience but actually use Rooney up front.

I've really wanted to see Falcao shine but he's literally well on his way to Forlan status. Great player, just not going to happen at United. His movement and work rate is there, but he's not finishing anywhere near the way he should.

How Herrera isn't in the starting line up is something I'll never understand.

How was Fellaini not in the starting line up against West Ham I don't get either.

Does LVG actually have his players practice corners?

United are ridiculously predictable to the point where it's boring to watch. I know there were injury problems, but the way he's setting up his lineups, I'm just not sure of...

This took alot heart eiddy, good stuff.

Can we get back the Chiefs Avy now? :nerd:

I like the Chiefs avy better. So long as Woodward is running the football side of operations, I think United will have trouble.

Sad to say it, but it's definitely going to make a return shortly. Smh

can sir alex just come back

I'm fine with him gone. Everything comes to an end. The issue is that LVG is just being hardheaded.

Playing players way out of position.
Playing players on reputation.
Having one gameplan and when it's not working, revert to hoofball.

He's also not helping his cause going on and on about his philosophy yet playing a very elementary style of football.

I think the biggest problem is United have bought players without any sort of blue print in the squad they want to build.

Woodward & the Glazers have just kind of haphazardly bought players without any regard to who they already had & what skill or players ability they needed.

They bought a bunch of names & it's hurting the club in terms of tactics & playing style.

They need to figure out how they want to play then get rid of the players that won't suit those needs, then buy players that will fit in with what they want to do.

Right now, you just don't see that. Just Woodward & that daft smile/smirk of his...

im not lvg-out but he needs to be deserves a lot of questions and criticism.. his inability to find balance and bring out the best in his players don't reflect well on him...

can real get tired of/sack carlo, we will be more then happy to take him..

It's not just LvG, it's the management above him too. It's ok to want to make money & succeed in that aim but you can't neglect the football side of operations.

Just look at Barca & how unsatisfactory the last several years have been since Pep left.

Nah its down to the manager.. barca has still performed well, even though they have neglected key areas and brought in players who don't necessarily fit (suarez).. i agree the management above him is bad.. but with the talent at his disposal scoring and creating shouldn't be an issue.. i aint even worried about the table, I'm more concerned with the way we are playing..

I'm saying it's a combo of both (manager & management). You really think this is a talented roster of players? I think it's a very ill conceived group of players that don't mesh together well. I also think there is too much the same type of talents the only reason why United are in the top 4 is because some teams that had success last year are under performing this year.
